Prince Harry photobombed the New Zealand rugby sevens coach Sir Gordon Tietjens in Glasgow at the Commonwealth Games on Monday.

Prince Harry's Photobomb

Prince Harry gave two thumbs up and sported an open-mouthed grin in his photobomb of Tietjens snap with Sport Manawatu chief executive Trevor Shailer and Massey University Professor Emeritus Gary Hermansson. The three men in the foreground were all outfitted in New Zealand’s black and white kits, while the prince in the background was sporting a white button-down shirt.

Not long after the picture was taken, Trevor Shailer took to Facebook to make it his Facebook profile picture. “'Photo of the day…. A Royal photo bomb by Prince Harry with Titch (Sir Gordon) and Gary Hermansson at the Swimming venue tonight,” Shailer wrote. “Thanks to Bev Hari for taking the pic…fun times supporting our athletes at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games!”

“I'm still smiling about the photobomb with my new mate Prince Harry,” he added later. “Trying not to let on to the athletes that I'm chuffed [proud], so just playing cool like I normally do…yeah whatever!!”

At the time of the photograph on Monday, the men were watching the women’s 800m swimming freestyle. Welsh swimmer Jazz Carlin ended up with the gold in the swimming competition.

Earlier on the Commonwealth Games, Prince Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth photobombed Australian field hockey players Jayde Taylor and Brooke Peris.
