The Pitch Perfect 2 trailer is finally here, and finds the Barden Bellas, featuring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, taking on the World Champions of a cappella.

Pitch Perfect 2 Trailer

As seen in the trailer for Pitch Perfect 2, Beca (Kendrick), Fat Amy (Wilson) and the Bellas are entering an international a cappella competition that no American team has ever won. The trailer is littered with fun references to the first film – most notably a new rendition of the surprise hit “Cups” – and gives fans a sneak peek at another Riff-Off.

The sequel to the 2012 musical hit was directed by Elizabeth Banks, who is also reprising her role as the a cappella announcer, Gail, and written by Pitch Perfect scribe Kay Cannon. Also returning to the project are Barden Bellas Alexis Knapp, Ester Dean, Hana Mae Lee, Kelley Jakle and Shelley Regner. Not to be outdone, male lead Skylar Astin is also back for the sequel, along with fellow Treble Ben Platt, who is seen performing some elaborate magic tricks in the trailer.

It’s bigger. It’s more global, certainly. Because of that, the performance numbers aren’t in, like, teeny auditoriums this time around. The Bellas are sort of famous. You gotta put some lasers in there, because you can have that in your backyard BBQ nowadays,” Banks told EW of the sequel.

Finally, Adam Devine’s character Bumper, also appears in the trailer, and it seems he failed to make it in the music industry (fans will remember that he left the Treblemakers in Pitch Perfect to sing background vocals for John Mayer), and now sings with middle-aged a cappella singers featured briefly in the first film, played by Jason Jones, Donald Faison, Har Mar Superstar and Joe Lo Truglio.

Hailee Steinfeld Talks Pitch Perfect 2

The first trailer for the highly anticipated sequel premiered Wednesday night at New York City Pitch Perfect sing-along screenings, and returning stars Anna Camp and Brittany Snow joined new addition to the cast Hailee Steinfeld on the Today show Thursday morning to talk about the film.

“Getting off a plane and walking into this world that was already established…was very intimidating, but they were very welcoming and very supportive…I can’t express how excited I am to be a part of it,” Steinfeld said.
