From the producers of Maleficent and Alice in Wonderland, comes The Huntsman: Winter’s War, an action-packed prequel to the fairytale, Snow White. While the movie is about the rivalry between Queen Ravenna and her sister, Freya, the narration will also cover the events that occur after the conclusion of the first film, Snow White and the Huntsman, which starred Charlie Theron, Chris Hemsworth, and Kristen Stewart.

The new trailer reveals the origin of the feud, sparked by Ravenna’s betrayal of her sister which causes Freya to flee the kingdom. In an ice palace, Freya trains an army to defeat Ravenna. Ravenna is portrayed by Theron, while Freya is played by Emily Blunt. Helping Freya is Eric the Huntsman (Hemsworth). But Eric is also falling in love with Sara (Jessica Chastain) even though love is forbidden in the army.

Halsey’s “Castle” adds to the intensity of the trailer.

The movie draws from Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen, the same inspiration for Disney’s Frozen.

With this star-studded cast and impressive trailer, be sure to catch the fantastical movie in theaters on April 22.
