Miranda Lambert shared a picture of herself in a fur coat on Instagram and was soon inundated with criticisms from her fans and followers.

Miranda Lambert Blasted For Fur Coat

Lambert’s grandmother had gifted her with a pair of her own fur coats for Christmas. Proud of the family heirlooms, Lambert took to Instagram to share a picture of herself posing in one of the fur coats.

“I’m so fancy… You already know’ my Nonny gave me two of her fur coats!” Lambert captioned the picture. “I definitely know where I got my love for DIAMONDS, FUR and WHISKEY! #familytradition #grandmastreasures #besthandmedownever #wandathewanderer #bringitwinter.”

In a follow-up post, Lambert shared a picture of herself with her “Nonny,” and a snap of her name embroidered on the coat’s lining. “Her name embroidered inside is priceless. A family heirloom I will cherish forever,” Lambert wrote. “I’m so thankful for her and all the things I have learned from her. Nonny is strong, beautiful, feisty and most of all, loving. #grandmastreasures #diamondsfurandwhiskey #wandathewanderer.”

The comments sections on Lambert’s posts were soon filled with as many criticisms as there were messages of jealousy regarding the coats.

“Sorry, I love you dearly, but I don’t agree with this,” one of Lambert’s followers wrote. “I don’t agree with animals dying for coats.”

One commented, “Sad that some people still think wearing a dead animal is fashionable and ‘fancy.’ I love your music, Miranda, but ugh.”

“Not cool for animal lover Miranda,” another follower said.

Thus far, Lambert has declined to weigh in on the controversy and has left the backlash-sparking pictures up on her Instagram page.
