Michael Phelps made an appearance at Arizona State University’s game against Oregon State Thursday night and participated in the school’s Curtain of Distraction tradition.

Phelps, flanked by two ASU college students, hid behind the Curtain as one of the Oregon State players took to the free throw line. For the first throw, Phelps ripped off his shirt – and the player missed. For the second, he ripped off his pants – and the college baller missed again.

Phelps’ successful turn behind the Curtain of Distration earned the applause of the crowd. “It’s LIT,” the Sun Devil Athletics Twitter account captioned a picture of the Olympic swimmer outfitted in just a speedo, swim cap and fake gold medals.

Sun Devil Athletics also shared a GIF of the event.

“@942crew we just killed it!!!! #mp #mpswim #asu #curtainofdistraction and he missed both!!,” Phelps captioned a video from the game.
