Michael Buble drew the ire of his Instagram followers earlier this week after making a questionable post on the social media site.

Buble, who was in Miami, shared a picture of himself with a woman in the background. Drawing attention to the stranger, Buble captioned the image, “There was something about this photo lu took ,that seemed worthy of instagram.
#myhumps #babygotback #hungryshorts #onlyinmiami #picoftheday #beautifulbum.”

Not surprisingly, many of the crooner’s fans took issue with the post, especially because of Buble’s choice of captions.

After learning of the backlash, Buble offered something of an apology to those he had offended.

“Anyone who knows me would never misinterpret the message of the photo that my wife took in Miami that seems to have caused unexpected rage by some people,” Buble wrote in a follow-up Instagram post.

“I do not not court controversy,” he added. “But I realize that a photo meant to be complimentary and lighthearted has turned into a questionable issue. … I regret that there are people out there who found the photo offensive. That was not my intention. Women are to be celebrated, loved, respected honored and revered. I’ve spent my life believing that and will continue to do so.”
