Matt Bendik, the 35-year-old boyfriend of Glee actress Becca Tobin was found dead in his Philadelphia hotel room.

Glee Star's Boyfriend Found Dead

A maid at Hotel Monaco found Bendik, a nightclub owner, dead Thursday, July 10 around 1 p.m. The Philadelphia Medical Examiner confirmed the death to TMZ, though the ME did not reveal Bendik’s cause of death. No drugs or drug paraphernalia were reportedly found in the room.

Tobin, 28, who found fame playing cheerleader Kitty Wilde on Glee in 2012, had been staying with Bendik in the hotel room on a business trip and had spent Wednesday night out with him and friends of theirs in Philly. It’s uncertain where she was the afternoon of Bendik’s death.

Bendik got his start in the nightclub business working a promoter for Whiskey a Go Go when he was just 15, according to the New York Daily News. After studying business at Cornell University, he returned to the Los Angeles club scene, where he eventually started running Hollywood hotspots DBA and AV.

Tobin is the second Glee actress to tragically lose her boyfriend. On July 13 of last year, Lea Michelle’s boyfriend and fellow Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver. The cause of death was ultimately confirmed as a lethal mixture of heroin and alcohol.

Glee will premier it’s sixth and final season this fall.
