‘The Wolverine’ UK Premiere: Hugh Jackman, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto Stun [Slideshow]
The Wolverine UK premiere, attended by stars Hugh Jackman, Famke Janssen, Rila Fukushima and Tao Okamoto, took place in London's Leicester Square on Tuesday.
Jackman made a dramatic entrance on the red carpet in a white Audi sports car, as fans of the 44-year-old actor and photographers snapped away. Stepping out of the car with a white button-down and no tie, Jackman quickly threw on his navy blue suit jacket to complete the sleek look. Speaking about the Wolverine superhero he’s played a total of six times now, the actor said, "I may be biased, but he’s the coolest and most interesting hero. I love him."
Dressed in a blush floor-length gown with black belt detailing, Janssen posed for photographers at The Wolverine UK premiere. “I can’t say everything — except I’m dead,” she recently told the New York Post when asked about the film. “I die twice. He killed me, but it was peaceful. [Jean Grey] was Wolverine’s love. Anyway, this movie. There’s a dream sequence. Riddled with guilt, I come back. The audience decides is she real or not.”
New actors Fukushima and Okamoto riveted on their first walk on the red carpet. Fukshima donned a geometrical navy blue strapless pantsuit, while Okamoto wore a gold, black and orange printed gown. "It's a very daunting thing to make your first film," Jackman said, speaking of the young actresses at a New York City press conference. "And when your first film is as big as this, there's a lot of pressure. I'm so proud of what these women achieved.”
The Wolverine is set for wide release in the U.S. on July 26.
