Former Frasier star Kelsey Grammer has become a father for the seventh time.

KELSEY GRAMMER WELCOMES BABY NUMBER SEVEN

He and his wife Katye welcomed a baby boy, Auden James Ellis Grammer, on Monday. The couple shared that their name choice came from two of their favorite artists, poet W.H. Auden and singer/songwriter James Taylor. The boy will go by James. The couple also said that James was Grammer’s great-grandfather’s name. “He was a colorful character to say the least,” explains Katye in their statement. “We wanted to give the name a second chance.”

The Grammers wed in 2011 and already have two children together, though their road to parenthood was not an easy one. Katye suffered a miscarriage in 2010 and lost another son in utero the following year after announcing they were expecting twins.

Grammer has two sons, Mason and Jude, from his marriage to Camille Grammer, as well as two adult children, Spencer and Greer, from his relationships with Doreen Alderman and Barrie Buckner, respectively.

Grammer has said that his wife teases him by comparing him to the historic warrior Genghis Khan, who was famous for having multiple children with multiple women. “I’m at six,” he told Stephen Colbert previously. “My wife Katye calls me Genghis Khan so… she likes to tell me I have dozens of children.” Despite her teasing, the couple has expressed a desire to grow their family even more.
