Joel McHale hosted the ESPYs on Wednesday night, and The Soup host lit into a few stars during his opening monologue — including Bill Cosby.

Joel McHale Jokes About Bill Cosby At ESPY Awards

McHale opened the award show in a hilarious fashion, as Triple Crown winner Victor Espinoza jumped on the host’s back and rode him to the stage. The audience was already laughing when McHale threw out his first celebrity dig at Donald Trump.

“Victor Espinoza made history by becoming the first Latino to win the Triple Crown. He’ll make history again when he’s the first person president Donald Trump deports back to Mexico,” McHale joked.

McHale did not stop there. The host then snuck in a dig at Justin Bieber. “It’s been 22 years since a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup. It’s also been 22 years since Canada’s own Justin Bieber was conceived…it’s not a coincidence Canada,” McHale pointed out.

Next on McHale’s hit list was Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. “You know him, you love him, you’ve chased him across the country side with torches and pitchforks — Rob Gronkowski! Hey Rob, you want some raw meat or anything buddy?” the host mocked. “Rob is nominated for Best Comeback ― which he thinks is for that time he yelled, ‘Yo that’s not what your mom said last night!’”

McHale’s ultimate burn went to Bill Cosby, as the controversy surrounding the comedian came to a head this week following the release of his 2005 court statement.

“UFC champion Ronda Rousey who is here tonight may be the most dominant athlete in all of sports. Ronda has knocked out more women than Bill Cosby,” McHale said. “You know what? I’m sorry I misspoke — I meant Dr. Bill Cosby.”
