Henry Blackaby, the founder and president emeritus of Blackaby Ministries International, was found on Friday evening after having been missing for over 24 hours.

"Henry Blackaby update: He has been found! Doctors are checking him to see if he is OK, but he is safe. THANK YOU for your prayers!," his son Richard Blackaby tweeted around 9 p.m.

The website for Blackaby’s ministry also posted a message of thanks to those who’d been praying for his safety. "The Blackaby family would like everyone to know that Henry has been found and is safe. His health concerns are being addressed and we will keep everyone posted with the news," the statement read. "We wish to express to everyone our appreciation and gratitude for the prayers and concern over the last 29 hours. Henry has taught us that we can experience God in the good and the bad times. We thank God that we have experienced his grace, peace, and faithfulness in these times."

Blackaby, 78, went missing at about 4 p.m. on Thursday. His son Blackaby tweeted about his father’s disappearance on Friday morning.

A Type 2 diabetic, Blackaby was thought to be travelling disoriented through the Atlanta area without his insulin. Friday afternoon, the Baptitst leader used his credit card six miles from his home, but wasn’t able to be tracked down for several more hours.

In addition to his work with the Blackaby Ministries International, Blackaby is a bestselling author of Experiencing God, a discipleship. His five children followed their father’s footsteps into the ministry.
