Broadway hit Hamilton broke the record for most Tony nominations in a single year with 16.

It is being considered for categories like Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score, among others.

The musical about the Founding Father and first secretary of treasury, Alexander Hamilton, has been wildly succesful. It broke the previous record for Tony nominations, which were held by The Producers and Billy Elliot. Lin-Manuel Miranda and company have their eyes set on breaking the former’s record for 12 Tonys come June 12. Miranda, 36, won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama earlier this year and is hoping to continue to grow his brand.

Hamilton will square off against Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock, small-town charmer Waitress, Appalachian bluegrass piece Bright Star and race-themed meta-tale Shuffle Along, or the Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed.

The nominations went underway at TonyAwards.com today, starting at 8:30 am ET. The winners will be announced on June 12 and the show will be aired at the Beacon Theatre at 8 pm ET on CBS. James Corden is set to host.
