Hafthor Bjornsson, the Games of Thrones actor, proved he’s nearly as mighty in real life as his onscreen persona “The Mountain” Gregor Clegane when he became Europe’s Strongest Man.

The Mountain Is Europe’s Strongest Man

Earlier this month, Bjornsson – whose nickname is Thor – bested the rest of the competition at Europe’s Strongest Man 2014 that was held in Leeds, England. At the end of the competition, Bjornsson placed first in three events – deadlifting for reps, lifting Atlas stones and the forward hold, according to Gawker.

Upon being dubbed the victor, Bjornsson ripped off his shirt and announced his dominance over the field of competitors, yelling, “I am the future of strength as I am King of the Stones!”

Before he was named Europe’s Strongest Man (and the strongest man in Westeros), Bjornsson had previously placed second in the European championship after winning the competition for the strongest man in Iceland.
