George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin adopted a basset hound named Millie from the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society.

George & Amal Adopt A Dog

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society announced on Facebook and on their website that Clooney and Alamuddin had stopped by the shelter, where they adopted the basset hound together.

“It was a happy day at the shelter for Millie! She is a four-year-old Basset Hound mix with gorgeous looks that would land her on any “Hush Puppies” commercial!” reads a post on the shelter’s website. “Despite those adorable googly eyes, pretty long ears, and shorty legs, Millie was found without a home and hoping for food scraps outside of a local restaurant in San Gabriel earlier this month.”

“Today her luck changed for the better when she was adopted by George and Amal Clooney. They were searching for a basset hound and saw Millie’s picture on Petfinder,” the site reveals. “They did a ‘meet and greet’ with her and spent time introducing her to their other rescue, a cocker spaniel named Louie. It was good news that Millie and Louie hit it off and the happy, new family headed home together! We hope Millie will stay in touch and send photos. Congratulations to the Clooney family and thank you for adopting!”

The San Gabriel Valley Human Society also shared Millie’s adoption on Facebook with a picture of the basset hound, the famous married pair and their rescue cocker spaniel named Louie.

“ADOPTED! Millie was adopted by George Clooney and his wife Amal!!” the shelter wrote on Facebook. “Millie, a basset hound, now has a new brother named Louie who is also a rescue! Congratulations and thank you for adopting!!”

While Clooney, Alamuddin and the two dogs make the picture of the perfect little family, it’s said that the couple is hoping to add a baby or two into the mix.

“They decided that it would be the right time,” one source told Us Weekly over the summer. “Amal isn’t taking on extra work at the moment and just continuing with the cases she has.”

Another insider added, “They recently visited a fertility center. This is something they really want.”
