Byron “Big Naz” Williams, a former bodyguard for rapper Eminem, said that hip hop mogul Suge Knight tried to have Eminem killed in 2001, during an interview released last week.

Suge Knight Tried To Kill Eminem, Says Former Eminem Bodyguard

Williams explained on Murder Master Music Show that he had to break up an argument between Eminem and Knight’s crew before things got out of hand, at the Source Awards 15 years ago.

“There was a situation at the Source Awards,” Williams said. “Which was our first encounter with Suge Knight and his henchmen.”

“I noticed that, in the middle of the aisle, he’s beefing with all these guys in red shirts,” Williams added. “I noticed his face changing, and he’s turning like, tomato-red. And there’s a sea of red guys around him… I had to bust through the middle and snatch him up.”

Williams noted that the fight occurred due to the seating arrangements at the award show.

“Bodyguards couldn’t sit with the artists.” Williams recalled. “I think that was by design ’cause I think they really wanted the artists to be able to network with each other, but it also gives people who got beef with other artists to get at them.”

“We ended up going backstage,” Williams shared. “Eminem did his presentation and we had to watch out for guys backstage. So I pretty much had to have him stand behind me and I just had to be on knockout mode, man.”

Williams claimed that Knight tried to get to Eminem again, while he was in Hawaii — when Eminem landed in Honolulu he was told by police officers that Death Row was there — Knight’s record label.

“When the plane lands we are greeted by 20 Honolulu police officers and they told us that Death Row is here, they tried to hem Snoop Dogg up,” Williams said. “Suge Knight had sent 50 guys to try to break up the show.”

“When we got there, vacation mode was over,” Williams continued. “We were locking and loading, putting on bulletproof vests with their wives and girlfriends sitting next to them.”

Knight is currently in jail and facing trial for murder and attempted murder charges after reportedly running a man over in February.
