David Hasselhoff announced that he raised over $150,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation just by selling his personal Knight Rider car, KITT, while speaking at the Cambridge Union.

Hasselhoff, best known for his roles in Baywatch and Knight Rider, spoke at the Cambridge Union in England on Saturday, May 24, where he spoke about his career and how he built up his brand as ‘The Hoff.’ Most notably, according to the official press release, Hasselhoff spoke of the significance Knight Rider and its loyal fans have had on his life.

David Hasselhoff’s KITT Car Sells For $150,000

During his talk, he revealed that his car from Knight Rider, known as KITT – Knight Industries Two Thousand – had recently been auctioned off for $150,000. In fact, the car sold for $152,600.

“I can’t believe Knight Rider affected so many people in such a positive way. I just sold my car for $150,000 to a guy in Turkey,” Hasselhoff reportedly told the crowd.

David Hasselhoff Auctions Personal Items For Charity

The car was just one of about 70 items Hasselhoff donated to be auctioned off by Julien’s Auctions’, with the proceeds going to the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Also included in the sale were various pieces of signed memorabilia, lower priced items such as a ‘David Hasselhoff German Shirt’, and personal items. One of the bigger ticket donations was a 1965 Ford Mustang, which sold for $32,000.
