Dancing with the Stars returned Monday night with the final nine couples dancing to songs sung by – and/or liked by – recording artist Pitbull. Also, filling in for Erin Andrews, who is working the World Series, was DWTS alum Leah Remini.

Dancing with the Stars Recap

Jonathan Bennett and Allison Holker were the first pair to hit the dance floor, taking on a jazz number. Allison choreographed a Men in Black-themed routine complete with some hip-hop moves that Jonathan picked up with ease. Overall, it was the best choreography from Holker and Jonathan’s best dancing. Scores: 8+8+8+8=32

The reunited Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy danced a traditional samba. The routine was both fun and passionate, with Val showing off his abs. Once again, Janel proved she’s a natural on the dance floor. Among the judges, it was Pitbull that was left the most disappointed, while Carrie Ann Inaba had some advice for Janel’s arms and turns. Scores: 8+7+9+9 = 33

Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd, who took a trip to a sweat lodge this week, took on a foxtrot. Tommy appeared to have some trouble with the ballroom dance and didn't quite remember all of the moves in the routine. He attempted to imbue the foxtrot with some humor, but the judges scored him on his technique. Scores: 7+7+7+7=28

Dancing a salsa this week was Antonio Sabato Jr. and Cheryl Burke. The Latin dance once again exposed Antonio’s continued struggle to nail the hip action. Additionally, it was obvious in the routine that Cheryl tried to mask her partner’s shortcomings with a host of troupe dancers. Even a lift did more to hurt the effort. Scores: 7+7+7+7=28

Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson had to get out of her comfort zone to dance a sultry rumba with Mark Ballas. Despite her initial fears that the dance would compromise her Christian values, Sadie ended up throwing herself into the romance of the dance. Overall, the judges were pleased with what Sadie and Mark brought out this week. Scores: 9+10+8+8=35

Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev did their best salsa Monday night. Though Lea was worried about how she’d fair with the Latin dance, she threw herself into its more sexy moves and the two teamed up for a couple of impressive lifts. The judges, while not bashing the dance, thought that Lea lacked the confidence to take it to the next level. Scores: 8+8+8+8=32

Michael Waltrip, who had to take some time away from rehearsal to compete in a NASCAR race, danced an Argentine Tango with Emma Slater. Michael was aided by the very nature of the Argentine Tango, which puts a heavier focus on the female partner. Largely standing around for most of the routine, Michael did an OK job of what was required of him. Scores: 8+7+8+7=30

Taking on a Tango this week was YouTube star Bethany Mota and Derek Hough. Since Bethany had a YouTube event in Australia this week, Derek had a limited amount of time to teach her the routine. Despite the time constrictions, the two put on a memorable futuristic routine. Had Bethany not had the one slip up, she likely would have received a couple of perfect scores. Scores: 9+9+9+9=36

Dancing the last dance of the evening was Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson, who had to take on a salsa this week. Both Alfonso and Witney were battling injuries, though it was hard to tell during their dance. Alfonso’s personality is still shining through in his dances, but he’s now added commendable technique. Scores: 10+10+9+10

In the end, it was revealed that Mean Girls actor Jonathan and his pro partner Allison had been eliminated. Next week, Dancing with the Stars will be airing its Halloween episode and Len Goodman will be back at the judging panel.
