The Cock in a Sock campaign is a global effort to raise awareness for male cancers, run by the team of James Brown and Siobhan Watton.

According to the campaign’s website, “Cock in a Sock © is a fun campaign started by James Brown to raise awareness for male cancers. The idea caught on and within days James' Facebook page received over 100k likes and thousands of Cock in a Sock © pictures and donations.”

“The original idea was as a result of the girls 'no make-up selfie' campaign, and James thought the lads should get involved too, and what better way to get people talking!”

Responding to the call, thousands of men have posed for Instagram selfies wearing nothing but a sock over their penises.

In order to donate to Cock in a Sock, you can text SOCK70 along with the amount you wish to donate to 70070. Or, you can visit Cock in a Sock’s Just Giving Page. All donations go to Cancer Research UK.

As of March 27, the campaign has raised £3,292, 65% of their goal of £5,000. So far, 700 donations have been made.

Once Cock in a Sock reaches £5,000, it can become a registered charity and raise more awareness for men’s cancers.
