Chris Brown Could Face Jail Time For Snatching Cell Phone
There is an ebb and flow to life no matter how famous you are, but for rapper Chris Brown, it is definitely a roller coaster ride. Just last week, on the eve of dropping two controversial Rihanna collaborations, Brown was riding high from a surprise Grammy win and a comeback performance. Now, he is facing possible jail time due to an incident in which he allegedly grabbed — and kept — a fan's cell phone after she took photos of him at a night club.
The fan, named Shanae Spann, claims in a Miami Beach police report that she spotted Brown and rapper Tyga leaving the Cameo nightclub earlier this week when she followed them out a back door. When Spann used her iPhone to take a picture of Brown sitting in a black Bentley, the rapper reached through the car window and took it from her hands, saying, "B***h, you ain’t going to put that on no website.” Up went the window and off drove the Bentley, with Spann's iPhone reportedly still in Brown's possession.
The Florida State Attorney's Office is preparing a warrant for Brown's arrest on suspicion of "robbery by sudden snatching," according to E! Online.
The trouble for Brown, moreover, is much more serious given the fact that he is still serving five years' probation for felony assault after beating up ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. The phone-stealing offense could result in jail time due to a probation violation, according to MTV News.
Meanwhile, this latest accusation of abrupt and reckless behavior does little to help Brown's image as lacking some much-needed anger management. Just last week, Brown removed from his Twitter feed a post that bragged about his Grammy win and directed the F-word at his dissenters, many of whom are still displeased with his attitude after the domestic abuse incident with Rihanna. "Hate all you want cuz I got a Grammy now! That's the ultimate f*** off," he tweeted.
