Bruno Mars didn’t disappoint when he took to the stage during halftime of Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday night.

Bruno Mars' Super Bowl Halftime Show

Mars dressed for his Super Bowl performance in his customary flashy fashion. With his pompadour as high as ever, he came on stage in a glittery gold suit jacket with black leather lapels and a skinny black tie. He started the show off with “Locked Out Of Heaven” and ended with “Just The Way You Are,” while a montage played of military men and women stationed abroad sending their love to loved ones in America.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers joined Mars on stage and mashed up their song “Give It Away” with Mars’ “Runaway Baby.” Anthony Kiedis, Flea and Chad Smith sported their infamous shirtless look despite the rather chilly weather in East Rutherford, N.J.

Following acts such as Beyoncé, Madonna and Bruce Springsteen, Mars proved he was a wise choice to fill up the 12-minutes of performance time. His showmanship provided a much-needed boost of energy during a somewhat lackluster Super Bowl game that saw the Seattle Seahawks roll past the Denver Broncos, 43-8.
