Bristol Palin and Dakota Meyer have patched things up and secretly tied the knot after calling off their engagement last year.

Bristol Palin, Dakota Meyer Wed

Meyer and Palin jointly confirmed that they had privately married following a long estrangement via a statement to Entertainment Tonight.

“Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be,” Palin and Meyer told ET. “We are so happy to share with loved ones the wonderful news that we got married! Hard work and God’s grace are the foundation of our new life together, and with the love and support of our family we know we can get through anything.”

The day prior to releasing the statement, Meyer had hinted at a formal reconciliation on Facebook. He had uploaded a picture with the daughter of former governor of Alaska Sarah Palin, captioning it, “On one hand, we know that everything happens for a reason, and there are no mistakes or coincidences. On the other hand, we learn that we can never give up, knowing that with the right tools and energy, we can reverse any decree or karma. So, which is it? Let the Light decide, or never give up? The answer is: both.”

Palin and Meyer announced their engagement in March 2015. In May, ahead of a planned Memorial Day weekend, it was revealed that the two had called off the wedding amid rumors that the U.S. Medal of Honor recipient had a secret ex-wife. Only a month after confirming that the marriage was off, Palin was forced to confirm that she was pregnant. Eventually, Palin confirmed that Meyer was the father, and a custody battle for their now five-month-old daughter Sailor Grace ensued.

Palin is also mother to 7-year-old son Tripp from her relationship with ex-fiancé Levi Johnson.
