Christie Brinkley, left, and Billy Joel are coming out swinging against The New York Post for publishing rumors about a huge family rift after their daughter Alexa Ray Joel's reported attempted suicide: "We feel we must set the record straight to protect our family. The story... has been subsequently spread across the Internet, is filled with vicious lies and attempts to smear our character and that of our beloved daughter.
