Bobby Brown admitted in a recent interview that he and Whitney Houston may have failed their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown.

Bobby Brown On Bobbi Kristina’s Death

Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Atlanta-area home in January 2015. A toxicology report found alcohol, marijuana, a cocaine-related substance, morphine and anti-anxiety medication in her system. When she died in July 2015 at age 22, her cause of death was ruled a combination of drug intoxication and drowning.

Almost a year to the date of Bobbi Kristina’s death, Brown is speaking out to take some of the blame for his daughter’s untimely death. “We could have been better. We should have been better,” he told ABC News’ Robin Roberts, referring also to Houston.

Houston, herself, had died just three years before her daughter in February 2012 at the age of 48. She had passed in an eerily similar manner to Bobbi Kristina, after being found unresponsive in the bathtub of her suite at the Beverly Hilton hotel. Though her cause of death was listed as an accidental drowning, she too had a mix of marijuana, cocaine and pills in her system.

Brown implied in his recent interview that, in addition to himself, he blames Nick Gordon for the deaths of his ex-wife and daughter.

“It’s not a mystery to me. The same thing that happened to my daughter is what happened to Whitney,” Brown told Roberts. “There is only one person around both occasions.”

Gordon’s attorney, Jose Baez has hit back against Brown’s insinuating comments: “We have repeatedly said that Nick Gordon is innocent of any wrongdoing. He has not been charged with any crime. Enough is enough; let’s end this baseless speculation.”
