Betty White Death Hoax Goes Viral
Betty White, 92, found herself the victim of yet another Internet celebrity death hoax after a satirical article wrote that the comedic actress “dyed” in her home.
RIP Betty White
The article, posted to Empire News on Wednesday, Sept. 3, ran with the headline, “Actress Betty White, 92, Dyes Peacefully In Her Los Angeles Home.” ‘Dyes’ – spelled with a ‘y’ – here refers to the act of chemically changing one’s hair color, as opposed to ‘d-i-e-s’, which would signify a death. The unfortunate homophone led many to believe that White had actually died in her home.
RIP Betty White, you were one of the most amazing comedians of ALL time! No one could make me laugh quite as much as you…
