Ben Higgins, who was dumped by Kaitlyn Bristowe on Monday night’s episode of The Bachelorette, has reportedly been picked to star on the next season of The Bachelor.

Ben Higgins As ‘The Bachelor’

The next Bachelor star won’t officially be announced until after the current season of The Bachelorette wraps in a few weeks, but those at the “Men Tell All” taping say that Higgins has the gig, according to Gossip Cop. It’s been said that Higgins and ABC are in the midst of hashing out a deal.

Higgins got down to the final three suitors on The Bachelorette, but didn’t get a rose after his overnight date with Bristowe in Galway. Instead, Bristowe decided to keep the feuding Shawn Booth and Nick Viall, and meet their families in Utah. Even though Bristowe decided to breakup with Higgins, she had nothing but good things to say about him.

“I think he’s just a well-rounded and solid guy who knows what he wants,” Kaitlyn told People magazine. “Even though he is only 26 I feel like he’s a very mature 26. He is such a gentleman. He’s a really, really, really, solid guy and he’s extremely handsome.”

If Higgins does end up being the next Bachelor star, the franchise will be keeping up the pattern of choosing the show’s second runner-up following Bristowe, Chris Soules and Andi Dorfman‘s selection.

The Bachelorette returns to ABC Monday at 8/7c.
