Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner took their three children on a family vacation as the couple announced their divorce.

Ben Affleck And Jennifer Garner Take Kids To Bahamas

Affleck and Garner announced earlier this week that they were divorcing after 10 years of marriage. In their statement, the Hollywood power couple asked for privacy, saying, “We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time.”

In the spirit of co-parenting and protecting their children’s privacy, Affleck and Garner reportedly took their three children, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3, to the Bahamas for a family vacation prior to the announcement. In fact, reports suggest the couple purposefully waited until the summer to announce their plans to divorce so that they could go away with their family and be together when the news broke.

“They were together as a family that day. The family felt it was important to be together and they were together. The family is united and, no matter what, will protect the kids. This isn’t easy for anyone and it’s devastating to Ben too. He loves his family and will always put them first,” a source told People.

Affleck And Garner To Live On Same Property

After months of rumors, Affleck and Garner confirmed their split in a joint statement released on Tuesday, June 30. No reason was given for the split, but reports suggest the two actors are making an effort to ensure the divorce goes as smoothly and drama-free as possible. “This should not be an ugly divorce. They plan on co-parenting and doing absolutely everything in the best interest of the kids,” a source added.

Despite the fact that moving vans were spotted outside their LA home in June, sources say the two will continue living on the same property – a large 8,800-square-feet estate the couple purchased in 2009 – in an effort to co-parent. The couple reportedly plans on sharing custody of their three children, and have been working with mediators to agree to the terms of their divorce before filing.

Affleck is expected to return to the public eye next weekend, when he will appear at Comic-Con to promote Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
