Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, who make up the comedy group The Lonely Island, sat down with Uinterview to discuss their latest comedy album, The Wack Album.

“I’m gonna go out on a limb and say this is our best album,” Taccone told Uinterview “And all of the tracks are some of my favorites.” Taccone’s enthusiasm comes as little surprise considering the lineup of guest singers they managed to recruit for The Wack Album. Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine, Hugh Jackman and Lady Gaga are just a few of the big names that make an appearance.

“We just get a big board of celebs and put their picture up and blindfold darts, just throw it at them,” said Samberg. Taccone added, “Darts. Yeah. And you’re like, ‘Yeah, that seems impossible to get that person, let’s go for that.’”

What’s almost as surprising as The Wack Album’s featured performers is that Samberg, Schaffer and Taccone have been working together since junior high. The trio joked with Uinterview about how their longstanding friendships have affected their collaborations. “I think it makes the creative process and our business relationship work better,” mused Taccone. “And it makes it harder for us friend-wise, ’cause all we really wanna do is hang out and play videogames and drink.”

The Wack Album, the third album from The Lonely Island, was released Tuesday, June 11.
