American Country Awards Honors Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood

The American Country Awards, held on Monday night in Las Vegas, was Jason Aldean's kinda party.

The newbie country music star topped out the ceremony with six awards, including the coveted Artist of the Year and Record of the Year for My Kinda Party.

"This is getting a little ridiculous now," Aldean said on one of his return trips to the stage to accept an award. "I don't know what else to say. It's been a crazy year."

Also taking home honors was country crooner Carrie Underwood, who nabbed three awards, including Female Artist of the Year and Female Single of the year for her hit, "Mama's Song."

Other rising stars got their chance to shine, including the band Thompson Square and the married duo Shawna and Kiefer Thompson. Blake Shelton won Video of the Year for "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking?" and Kelly Clarkson was honored alongside Aldean for their collaboration on "Don't You Wanna Stay." Even American Idol Scotty McCreery was named New Artist of the Year.
