The Fault In Our StarsAnsel Elgort and Shailene Woodley dominated the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, taking home seven surfboards, and Selena Gomez was awarded the Ultimate Choice Award.

Maid In Manhattan Reunion

Tyler Posey and Sarah Hyland co-hosted this year’s teen-approved award show, and, though neither took home any surfboards of their own, they did provide the audience with some memorable moments. Posey, in particular, had a fun time onstage when he reunited with his Maid in Manhattan co-star Jennifer Lopez, who played his mother in the film 12 years ago. Posey greeted his on-screen mom onstage and jokingly auditioned to be her backup dancer. “If I say yes, will you stop?” Lopez responded. After Posey ran off stage, Lopez seemed flustered for a moment, exclaiming, “He’s so big!”

Lopez later posted a photo of the two backstage on Instagram, writing, “Aw, look at Ty all grown up.”

The Fault In Our Stars Wins Big

The Fault In Our Stars were the big winners, and the most emotional ones, taking home Choice TV Movie Drama. Stars Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort and Nat Wolff also raked in the surfboards, winning Choice Movie Chemistry as a trio. Wolff also took home the award for Choice Movie Scene Stealer, while Woodley and Elgort won Choice Movie Lip Lock, Choice Movie Actress and Choice Movie Actor. Elgort also won Choice Movie Breakout Male for his roles in Divergent and TFIOS, making him the king of the 2014 Teen Choice Awards.

Elgort and Woodley both gave emotional speeches, with Elgort dedicating his Choice Movie Actor win to those affected by cancer. “My heart goes out to everyone who’s dealing with [cancer] because cancer sucks.”

Woodley took her time on stage to encourage teens to be themselves, saying, “In my opinion, you can be brave and jump off trains, but the truest form of bravery and courage is to wake up every single day and to be ourselves. That is something all of us have the opportunity and choice to make each and every morning. So, you do you, I’m gonna do me, she’s gonna do she, and hopefully I’ll actually be brave enough to take this into the water during Shark Week.”

Selena Gomez Dedicates Award To Her Mother

Finally, Gomez took home the biggest prize of the night: the new Ultimate Choice Award, which celebrated the young star’s accomplishments in television, film and music. Gomez dedicated the award to her mother, calling her “the greatest human being in the world.” She also thanked her fans for the award, and alluded to her breakup with on-again-off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber.

“I have to be honest, especially this month…amidst all the stuff we deal with personally… You remind me of what’s important and that’s giving and loving and caring about each other,” Gomez said.
