While the four-year-old was visiting the NFL star at his Texas home, he suffered an injury to the head that left a mark above his right eye. In a text message exchange that's reportedly between Peterson and the child's mother, Peterson seems to admit the kid "got a whopping in the car." The conversation, obtained by Houston TV station KHOU was as follows:

Mother: "What happened to his head?"
Peterson: "Hit his head on the carseat."
Mother: "How does this happen, he got a whooping in the car"
Peterson: "Yep"
Mother: "Why?"
Peterson: "I felt so bad. But he did it his self.

Since the story broke about the second incident of alleged abuse, Peterson's lawyer Rusty Hardin has defended his client, claiming that the allegation was untrue and authorities never pursued it.

"The allegation of another investigation into Adrian Peterson is simply not true," Hardin said in a statement to People. "This is not a new allegation, it's one that is unsubstantiated and was shopped around to authorities in two states over a year ago and nothing came of it. An adult witness adamantly insists Adrian did nothing inappropriate with his son. There is no ongoing or new investigation."

Peterson Reactivated, Writes Statement

On Monday, the Minnesota Vikings reactivated Peterson, whom they had deactivated in light of his indictment on child abuse charges. The franchise claimed that upon further examination of the situation, they felt it was most prudent to allow the legal process to move forward and permit Peterson to get back to training with his time.

Following the news that he'd be able to play in the Viking's week 3 game, Peterson released a statement in which he attempted to explain his misguided attempts at discipline via corporeal punishment. "I have to live with the fact that when I disciplined my son the way I was disciplined as a child, I caused an injury that I never intended or thought would happen," wrote Peterson, who had struck his son at least 10 times with a switch. "I know that many people disagree with the way I disciplined my child. [...] I have learned a lot and have had to reevaluate how I discipline my son going forward."
Tue, 23 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/10pbvv9nf6yo0w/1fwr6tup0/1qlk8wg9v/1fwr6tup0/mt7efe773/3y7phq64smw4ocw/lhc1bccfngg04wk/idbkgvsz7/o3a0jf2e073/6zxiwofmpw8wc/4xivqzdeu4w84cg/1mli5arj53fo84g/8avlcjekyr/ury4izm4llvb/1x2euybrjy1c1/2j0q5zqb8gu8w4wkMark Ruffalo, Leonardo DiCaprio And Al Gore Join People's Climate March In NYChttp://uinterview.com/news/mark-ruffalo-leonardo-dicaprio-and-al-gore-join-peoples-climate-march-in-nyc-12972

Mark Ruffalo and Leonardo DiCaprio marched for climate change in New York City’s People’s Climate March, which has attracted thousands to walk the streets of New York.

People's Climate March NYC

The People’s Climate March in New York City on Sunday, Sept. 21, was organized as a message to the United Nations summit on climate change, scheduled to take place on Tuesday in New York City.

“We are demanding the world we know is within our reach: a world with an economy that works for people and the planet; a world safe from the ravages of climate change; a world with good jobs, clean air and water, and healthy communities,” reads the official march website.

To the frontlines! During the tense seven days, the siblings and their respective significant others share laughs, tears and moments of rage. The movie, directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum), also stars Rose Byrne, Kathryn Hahn, Connie Briton, Timothy Olyphant and Dax Shepard

'This Is Where I Leave You' Reviewed

Critics have had mixed reactions to the star-studded comedy drama. Some were left wanting the film to either embrace the comedy more fully, or to take on a more nuanced and introspective approach to the family dynamics at play in This Is Where I Leave You. However, others felt that the film hit the right notes, which was no doubt aided by the talented and seasoned performers that make up its cast.

“A sprawling ensemble dramedy that starts out like a full-tilt sitcom and gradually migrates to a place of genuine feeling. […] This alternately manic and mawkish adaptation of Jonathan Tropper’s 2009 novel aims for “Kramer vs. Kramer” and “Terms of Endearment” territory and ends up somewhere closer to a Semitic “Home for the Holidays” or “August: Osage County.” But a tremendous ensemble cast gives the pic a significant boost, especially when they’re allowed to act rather than merely act out.” – Scott Foundas, Variety

“With a bench this deep, “This Is Where I Leave You” should have been a comedy of contemporary manners as wickedly funny as it is poignant. In the hands of Levy, it’s become just another forgettable example of low-stakes Hollywood hackwork at its most bland, banal and snipingly belligerent. “This Is Where I Leave You” leaves you wanting — if not more, than at least better and smarter and more honest. The problem, finally, is that it’s not nearly complicated enough.” – Ann Hornaday, The Washington Post

“There were times, watching "This Is Where I Leave You," when I thought I wasn't watching a movie, but an extended trailer. Although it's a movie about reflection, there are few quiet moments in it. Instead it's set-up, joke, set-up, joke. The applause lines even have space around them, dead air there for you to fill, as the director pauses — hopefully — for your laugh. It's everything that goes into a movie, except the movie.” – Stephen Whitty, The Star-Ledger

“I can't think of a family I'd rather sit shiva with than the Altmans of "This Is Where I Leave You." They bury their father, Mort, pun no doubt intended, with the right mix of tears and unearthed resentments, and they take the blows life hands them seriously enough but in stride. As if they are nothing special. This is exactly the charm of Jonathan Tropper's novel on which the comedy/drama is based.” – Betsey Sharkey, Los Angeles Times

This Is Where I Leave You, rated R, is currently in wide release.
Fri, 19 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/10pbvv9nf6yo0w/1fwr6tup0/1qlk8wg9v/1fwr6tup0/mt7efe773/3y7phq64smw4ocw/lhc1bccfngg04wk/idbkgvsz7/o3a0jf2e073/6zxiwofmpw8wc/4xivqzdeu4w84cg/1mli5arj53fo84g/8avlcjekyr/ury4izm4llvb/1x2euybrjy1c1/76bvkvorn9ciRoger Goodell Admits He '€œMishandled'€ Domestic Violence Scandalhttp://uinterview.com/news/roger-goodell-admits-he-mishandled-domestic-violence-scandal-12966

Embattled NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell admitted today that he “mishandled” and “got it wrong” in his dealing with Baltimore Raven's Ray Rice’s domestic violence scandal.

"Now I will get it right and will do whatever is necessary to accomplish that," Goodell said in a press conference today. Goodell also announced that the NFL will now make mandatory all team and staff members across all 32 teams in the league to undergo education and training in how to prevent sexual assault and domestic abuse.

Roger Goodell and Ray Rice

When the allegations of domestic violence first made it to public awareness, Goodell suspended Rice for only two games, and considered the matter closed. The rest of the country didn’t think so. Goodell’s name has almost constantly been trending on Twitter over the last several months, and he has been under near constant scrutiny by both the media and federal authorities. Earlier this month former FBI director Robert Mueller was asked to investigate the way the NFL handled the situation.

When further video evidence was leaked showing Rice brutally assaulting then-girlfriend now-wife Janay Palmer, Goodell suspended Rice indefinitely. Further difficulties were raised when Goodell’s stories stopped matching up. It is possible that he knew of the tape, and may have seen the contents of it well before he actually suspended Rice, and may have hoped to quash the scandal and keep it from becoming public.

Despite many calls for his resignation—from fans, former players and the National Organization for Women—Goodell has steadfastly refused.

Amidst the Rice debacle, Minessota Vikings running back Adrian Petersen has been caught up in his own controversy as well. Petersen was indicted earlier this month on child abuse charges. TMZ obtained and released pictures of the what Petersen did to his four year old son, who he is accused of beating and whipping with a switch (tree branch) which resulted in welts, cuts, bruises and bleeding along the child’s back, legs, ankles, buttocks and genitals. Goodell’s first response was to suspend Petersen for a single game.

Roger Goodell Controversies

Goodell’s tenure as NFL Commissioner has been a controversial one in general, and his handling of situations has been repeatedly questioned. Among the controversies includes the Michael Vick dog fighting scandal. Vick was convicted in running a dog fighting ring and confessed to beating, torturing and killing several dogs. Vick was suspended indefinitely from the league, and served 20 months in prison. After he was released, Goodell welcomed him back to the league, and in 2011 offered him a $100 million dollar deal to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, making Vick one of the highest paid NFL players in the league.

In 2009 and 2010 Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was accused of sexual assault by two women. Charges were never formally made and Roethlisberger was suspended for four games.

Twitter Reacts to Roger Goodell Controversies

Goodell has found himself at the center of the storm surrounding the NFL, largely because of his poor handling of the scandals that have plagued him during his tenure as NFL Commissioner. Scrutiny has come from all over Twitter, though the voice of Donovan McNabb, retired quarterback who played in the National Football League for thirteen seasons, was particularly clear in his distrust in Goodell.

Watching Roger Goodells presser made me feel like he's still dancing around the fact that the tape was sent and received. Together they establish a society while trying to figure out a way out of the labyrinth. Dylan O’Brien (The Internship), Kaya Scodelario (Skins U.K.), Will Poulter (We’re The Millers) and Thomas Brodie Sangster (Game of Thrones) all star in the film directed by Wes Ball.

The Maze Runner Reviewed

The critics seem to agree that the collection of young actors do a commendable job with the material, despite the fact that their film is coming on the heels of a handful of similarly-themed features. Though the actors are praised, the derivative storyline has tired some reviewers. While it may not be a revolution in cinema, most agree that Ball’s movie, at the very least, entertains.

“In an age when we are seeing quite a few pieces of young adult literature being turned into big screen films — usually chockablock with the latest examples of computer-generated technology driving the action — it was quite delightful to have watched “The Maze Runner,” a well-acted and intelligent thriller/futuristic sci-fi romp. […] beyond the visuals, what makes “The Maze Runner” so compelling is its attention-grabbing storyline.” – Bill Zwecker, Chicago Sun Times

“The actors are exceptionally strong, especially for unknowns starring in a young adult thriller. Each one finds a way to make his stock role stand out, and feel real. Making his feature directorial debut, Ball tries hard to keep us engaged, with deft pacing and urgent action scenes that seem smartly tailored to the movie’s teen audience. No, there’s nothing new here. But sometimes it’s enough to be merely entertained, rather than amazed.” – Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News

“The Maze Runner will have you going in circles. Sometimes it's a hectic action adventure, other times it feels like an updated version of Lord of the Flies. Ultimately, it's yet another tale of a teen dystopia. In any of the above scenarios, it leaves questions unanswered. A sci-fi thriller set in a vaguely post-apocalyptic future must create a fully drawn universe to thoroughly captivate the viewer. But Maze Runner feels only partially formed.” – Claudia Puig, USA Today

“What’s intriguing about “The Maze Runner”–for a long time, at least–is the way it tells us a story we think we’ve heard countless times before but with a refreshingly different tone and degree of detail. Ball, whose background is in visual effects, doesn’t overload his feature debut with a lot of glossy, high-tech imagery. Not for a while, anyway. Much of the film’s charm comes from its rough-hewn aesthetic–a tactile nature that’s both industrial and organic–and the way it takes its time vividly establishing an environment.” – Christy Lemire, RoberEbert.com.

The Maze Runner, rated PG-13, is currently in wide release.
Fri, 19 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/10pbvv9nf6yo0w/1fwr6tup0/1qlk8wg9v/1fwr6tup0/mt7efe773/3y7phq64smw4ocw/lhc1bccfngg04wk/idbkgvsz7/o3a0jf2e073/6zxiwofmpw8wc/4xivqzdeu4w84cg/1mli5arj53fo84g/8avlcjekyr/ury4izm4llvb/1x2euybrjy1c1/uo6u2psmknw1Jackson Rathbone Describes JetBlue Flight 1416 Emergency Landing After Engine Explodeshttp://uinterview.com/news/jackson-rathbone-describes-jetblue-flight-1416-emergency-landing-after-engine-explodes-12964

147 JetBlue passengers had quite a fright on Thursday when JetBlue flight 1416 from Long Beach to Austin suffered an engine malfunction, forcing an emergency landing.

Jackson Rathbone Live-Tweets Emergency Landing

Jackson Rathbone, who starred as Jasper in the Twilight Saga, was on the flight with his wife and young son and took to Twitter and WhoSay during the evacuation to describe the emergency landing and evacuation. The all-star athlete has persisted through the obstacles, but feels that at 32, maintaining a high-level of play while keeping herself healthy seems unrealistic.

“Most people in the tennis world know that my career has been marked by my troubled right knee,” Li Na wrote on Facebook. “The black brace I wear over it when I step on the court has become my tennis birth mark. And while the brace completes my tennis look, the knee problems have at times overtaken my life. After four knee surgeries and hundreds of shots injected into my knee weekly to alleviate swelling and pain, my body is begging me to stop the pounding.”

Earlier this year, Li Na showed no signs of slowing down, achieving a No. 2 rank and winning the Australian Open, her second Grand Slam victory. With those achievements, the tennis star feels like now is a perfect time to gracefully walk away from the sport.

“Winning a Grand Slam title this year and achieving a ranking of World No.2 is the way I would like to leave competitive tennis,” she wrote. “As hard as it’s been to come to this decision, I am at peace with it. I have no regrets. I was not supposed to be here in the first place, remember? Not many people believed in my talent and my abilities, yet I found a way to persevere, to prove them (and sometimes myself!) wrong.”

Though Li Na will no longer play competitive tennis, she will still remain an integral part of the sport in China, continuing to help cultivate the growth of tennis in the region. Already, she is teaming with her management company IMG to make concrete plans to facilitate the sport’s growth.

Li Na wrote in her retirement announcement, “Representing China on the tennis court was an extraordinary privilege and a true honor. Having the unique opportunity to effectively bring more attention to the sport of tennis in China and all over Asia is something I will cherish forever. But in sport, just like in life, all great things must come to an end.”

Fri, 19 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/10pbvv9nf6yo0w/1fwr6tup0/1qlk8wg9v/1fwr6tup0/mt7efe773/3y7phq64smw4ocw/lhc1bccfngg04wk/idbkgvsz7/o3a0jf2e073/6zxiwofmpw8wc/4xivqzdeu4w84cg/1mli5arj53fo84g/8avlcjekyr/ury4izm4llvb/1x2euybrjy1c1/8x01545kwvj9Téa Leoni Opens Up About Divorce From David Duchovnyhttp://uinterview.com/news/teacutea-leoni-opens-up-about-divorce-from-david-duchovny-12960

Téa Leoni is breaking her silence on her divorce from fellow actor and longtime husband David Duchovny.

Téa Leoni Talks Divorce

Leoni and Duchovny, after going back and forth with separations and reconciliations, finally decided to call it quits, filing for divorce back in June. While the couple cited “an irretrievable breakdown of the relationship” as the cause for the split, Leoni claims that despite the deterioration of their marriage, she’ll never be able to hate Duchovny.

"Listen, David gave me the two greatest gifts on the planet; I don't know how I could ever hate him,” Leoni, who has Kyd Miller, 12, and Madelaine West, 15, with the Silicone Valley star, told Parade. “We've always loved each other, and we adore these kids."

In their divorce filing, Leoni and Duchovny agreed to have joint legal custody of their children, with Leoni having primary physical custody.

Leoni is quick to point out that she’s not looking at their relationship post-divorce through rose-tinted glasses. She admits it's not easy, but that her and Duchovny’s shared love of their kids will drive them to make the situation, such as it is, work.

"I'm not playing stupid—I understand feelings can get hurt and things can get icky,” says the Madame Secretary actress. “We've had our moments like that. But these kids are too important, and he feels the same way. I know it," the actress says. "He's a good guy."

On a lighter note, Leoni noted that she and Duchovny have already managed to put a stop to their kids’ attempt to take advantage of the split. "There was that brief moment when the kids said, 'Oh, I can work a scam on you here and him over there,'” explained Leoni. “And we were like, 'News flash—no!'"

For Leoni, not only is it important for her children to maintain a strong relationship with their father, but also with their grandparents – which is one reason she’s happy that Madame Secretary is filming in New York City.

"L.A. is good for like four days, and then you've gotta get out. I wanted my kids close to my parents and David's mother,” says Leoni. “I wanted them to get to know their grandparents. I was very close to mine."

Leoni married Duchovny in 1997. In 2008, after it was revealed that Duchovny had a sex addition and he entered rehab, the two separated. While Reynolds has not officially signed on to star in the newest X-Men spinoff, it is believed that he will reprise his role. The actor has frequently expressed his desire to return to the franchise, and he lent his voice to Deadpool test footage that was leaked in July.

Rumors of a Deadpool movie have been circling ever since the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009, when Reynolds introduced the character to the X-Men franchise. The film ended with the character in transition, on his way to becoming the Deadpool seen in the comics. The film was somewhat of a critical flop, and the Deadpool movie seemed all but dead as Reynolds moved on to play the Green Lantern in 2011 and the X-Men franchise got a makeover with X-Men: First Class (2011). However, with the recent success of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, the Deadpool movie has been revived.

Deadpool will be Tim Miller’s directorial debut with an R-rated script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland).

“Rhett and Paul wrote a brilliant, and I don’t throw that word around loosely, a brilliant script! For example, under the March updates, cornrows and braids had to be no more than 1/4 inch in width with a uniform 1/8-inch gap in between braids. Many women took offense to these regulations and petitioned for them to be reconsidered.

The Daily Show
Get More: Daily Show Full Episodes,Indecision Political Humor,The Daily Show on Facebook

The new regulations do not include a specific measurement in terms of gap between braids, only requiring that the braids or cornrows or twists be evenly spaced. Furthermore, the accepted width has been increased to 1/2 inch.

Old regulations also required that braids be secured by small elastics, but now AR 670-1 only states that braids, twists or cornrows must be secured “inconspicuously.” Furthermore, cornrows no longer need to appear in a straight line from front to back, instead they can “follow the natural direction of the hair when worn back or in the natural direction using one part in the hair.”

The shortest hair a female soldier can have is 1/4-inch from the scalp and there is no maximum length. However, hair must be able to be worn up, in a bun measuring no more than three-and-a-half inches from the scalp out.

Tattoos

In March, new restrictions were placed on the number and size of acceptable tattoos, and soldiers hoping to apply to become officers who already exceeded the new regulation were required to receive an exemption. The revised regulations do not require an exception be given.

“The updated regulation takes into account that previously authorized tattoos should not prevent a soldier from becoming an officer, but that candidates are to be evaluated based on the whole soldier concept, or all characteristics of a soldier,” the Army said.
Fri, 19 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/10pbvv9nf6yo0w/1fwr6tup0/1qlk8wg9v/1fwr6tup0/mt7efe773/3y7phq64smw4ocw/lhc1bccfngg04wk/idbkgvsz7/o3a0jf2e073/6zxiwofmpw8wc/4xivqzdeu4w84cg/1mli5arj53fo84g/8avlcjekyr/ury4izm4llvb/1x2euybrjy1c1/18iui3ptcf34cogcPrince Harry Reunites With Ex-Girlfriend Cressida Bonashttp://uinterview.com/news/prince-harry-reunites-with-ex-girlfriend-cressida-bonas-12956

Prince Harry and his ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas have recently been spending some time together again, sparking rumors of a reconciliation.

Prince Harry, Cressida Bonas Back Together?

Harry, 30, and Bonas, 25, headed out on a date at the Kensington Odean Cinema in London Tuesday, where they watched a screening of Sex Tape, which stars Cameron Diaz and How I Met Your Mother’s Jason Segel. The vote breakdown was 55% against independence and 45% for independence, reported CNN.

Upon learning of the results, U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron expressed his approval of the results of the vote, saying from 10 Downing Street, “Like millions of other people, I am delighted.”

Though the majority of Scottish voters at the ballot box voted to stay in the U.K., there were a considerable number that wanted to break away. However, in order to put those promises into action, the changes will have to go through Parliament. Since he was a young boy, Chris had kidney problems, but he played through his health troubles, following his brother to the NFL, eventually wining two Super Bowls with the Steelers, until the pain forced him to end his career early after the 2011 season.

“I’ve seen him struggle and the last three years of his career, fighting through a lot because of his kidney. When we found out he needed a transplant, we had to stop our careers because his health was most important to us,” Ma’ake said at a press conference held Wednesday at the University of Maryland, where they are receiving medical care.

The brothers, both tall and wide, were a near perfect biological match. The entire family was tested to see whether or not any one of them would be a viable donor, and, while other siblings tested an 85 percent match, Ma’ake was a rare 99 percent match.

“I’m the oldest of the seven kids, so it was my responsibility to take care of my younger brothers and sisters. If my brother or any of my siblings needed blood, it would be my blood. If my brothers or sisters needed a kidney, it would have to be my kidney,” Ma’ake said.

At the press conference, Chris laughed about having the kidney of his rival – the Ravens – saying, “Everyone jokes about me having a Ravens’ kidney. But, hey, I can live with that.”

Chris And Ma'ake Kemoeatu: 'A Brother's Journey'

To prepare for the surgery, both Ma’ake and Chris had to lose weight – they both weighed in at over 350 pounds before starting the process – and, during their weight-loss period, Chris had to undergo dialysis. Before the liver transplant, Chris also learned that he had coronary disease that required bypass surgery. Six weeks after the heart surgery, the liver transplant was performed, and both brothers are recovering well.

“I think it definitely brought us closer. It took us to places we never imagined. We never thought it would come to this. We always think we’re healthy, and we never get sick. It definitely changed the way I look at things with my brother as far as sharing,” Chris said at the press conference.

While Chris will not be returning to the field, Ma’ake is reportedly open to the idea of reclaiming a spot in the NFL, though he has no set plans. For now Chris and Ma’ake are planning on returning to their home in Hawaii and focusing on building a “normal life.”

Cameras have been recording Chris and Ma’ake throughout the ordeal for a planned documentary, currently titled A Brother’s Journey.
Thu, 18 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/10pbvv9nf6yo0w/1fwr6tup0/1qlk8wg9v/1fwr6tup0/mt7efe773/3y7phq64smw4ocw/lhc1bccfngg04wk/idbkgvsz7/o3a0jf2e073/6zxiwofmpw8wc/4xivqzdeu4w84cg/1mli5arj53fo84g/8avlcjekyr/ury4izm4llvb/1x2euybrjy1c1/66zst06rv3mrEllen Pompeo Shares Pic Of 'Grey's Anatomy' Cast Posing As 'Orange Is The New Black' Casthttp://uinterview.com/news/ellen-pompeo-shares-pic-of-greys-anatomy-cast-posing-as-orange-is-the-new-black-cast-12946

Ellen Pompeo shared a picture of members of the Grey’s Anatomy cast imitating members of the cast of Netflix’s hit series Orange is the New Black.

Grey's Anatomy Meets Orange is the New Black

Pompeo posted the snap on her WhoSay account, captioning it, “Blue is the new black #8daystillgreys.”

For the picture, Pompeo appeared to channel Orange character Trisha Miller (who was played by Madeline Brewer), rocking her light brown hair in cornrows and showing some attitude with her arms crossed over her chest. Sara Ramirez, who plays Callie on the hit medical drama, did her best Alex (Laura Prepon) impression with thick-rimmed black glasses and a tattoo exposed on her upper arm.

Pompeo, who plays Meredith Grey in the series, and Ramirez were joined in the photograph by four extras. Moments before her execution, Coleman said goodbye to her family and “the girls on the row.”

“I just want to tell my family I love them, my son, I love him. The girls on the row I love them and keep their heads up. Tell Darlie I love her, hand in hand. God bless y’all. I’m alright, tell them I finished strong. I love y’all, I’m done. I love you, Richie. I love you. Thank you Brad and John, all of y’all. God is good, I love you Auntie. I’m done,” Coleman said in her final statement.

Coleman was the ninth person executed by the state of Texas this year, and the 30th in the nation. She is only the 15th woman to be executed in the US since the death penalty was reinstated in 1976. Executions of women are rare, and account for just one percent of all executions since 1976.

Coleman was convicted in 2006 of kidnapping and starving Davontae Williams, 9, to death in 2004. Davontae was the son of Coleman’s girlfriend, Marcella Williams, and was found dead by the police in 2004. The medical examiner said that the boy weighed only 35.8 pounds at time of death, and his body showed signs of abuse. He died of severe malnutrition and was found bound, wearing only a diaper. Coleman and Williams were both convicted, but instead of the death penalty, Williams reached a plea deal and is currently serving out a life sentence behind bars. Authorities charged Coleman with murder and an added charge of kidnapping, making it capital murder, a crime punishable by death.

Court Denies Stay Of Execution

Coleman’s attorney, John Stickels, made a failed attempt to get a stay of execution, on the grounds that Coleman did not kidnap Davontae, and therefore, should not be charged with capital murder under Texas law. An hour before Coleman’s execution, the Supreme Court announced that they would not be granting a stay of execution.

“What she’s really guilty of is being a black lesbian. If she is executed, it will be because of her sexual orientation. Her sexual orientation played a role in the state choosing to seek the death penalty and in her getting the death penalty,” Stickels said on Monday.
Thu, 18 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/10pbvv9nf6yo0w/1fwr6tup0/1qlk8wg9v/1fwr6tup0/mt7efe773/3y7phq64smw4ocw/lhc1bccfngg04wk/idbkgvsz7/o3a0jf2e073/6zxiwofmpw8wc/4xivqzdeu4w84cg/1mli5arj53fo84g/8avlcjekyr/ury4izm4llvb/1x2euybrjy1c1/112tzok2qa1qvGerard Depardieu Admits To Drinking Up To 14 Bottles Of Wine Per Dayhttp://uinterview.com/news/gerard-depardieu-admits-to-drinking-up-to-14-bottles-of-wine-per-day-12945

Gerard Depardieu, the lauded French actor, recently copped to imbibing up to 14 bottles of wine per day – and not getting drunk.

Gerard Depardieu's Shocking Wine Drinking Habits

Depardieu revealed that he's not your average "bon vivant," claiming his constitution allows him to drink 14 bottles of wine daily in an interview with So Film U.K. "I can’t drink like a normal person," he said. "I can absorb 12, 13, 14 bottles per day."

The 65-year-old then proceeded to lay out his daily eating and drinking rituals. "In the morning, it starts at home with champagne or red wine before 10am, then again champagne," he said. "Then food, accompanied by two bottles of wine. In the afternoon, champagne, beer and more pastis at around 5pm, to finish off the bottle. Later on, vodka and/or whisky. But I’m never totally drunk, just a little p*****d."

Depardieu added, "All you need is a 10-minute nap and voila, a slurp of rose wine and I feel as fresh as a daisy. Anyway, I’m not going to die. Not now. I still have energy."

While the actor is feeling confident about his health these days, back in 2000 he suffered a heart attack. He's also had bypass surgery on a handful of occasions. Mental health expert Professor Michel Lejoyeux has condemned Depardieu's almost boastful account of his excessive drinking habits. "A consumption of 14 bottles a day is beyond all data, all thresholds and health references of the World Health Organization," Lejoyeux told the Daily Mail. "This is proof of the positive vision we have of alcohol poisoning."

Depardieu, who earned a best actor Oscar nod in 1991 for his work in Cyrano de Bergerac, has appeared in dozens of French films. He is best known to American audiences for his parts in Green Card and 2012's Life of Pi.

Thu, 18 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/10pbvv9nf6yo0w/1fwr6tup0/1qlk8wg9v/1fwr6tup0/mt7efe773/3y7phq64smw4ocw/lhc1bccfngg04wk/idbkgvsz7/o3a0jf2e073/6zxiwofmpw8wc/4xivqzdeu4w84cg/1mli5arj53fo84g/8avlcjekyr/ury4izm4llvb/1x2euybrjy1c1/1kq0orr6phvookgAubrey Plaza Cast As Grumpy Cat In Christmas Moviehttp://uinterview.com/news/aubrey-plaza-cast-as-grumpy-cat-in-christmas-movie-12944

Aubrey Plaza has been cast to voice Grumpy Cat in Lifetime’s holiday movie, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever.

Aubrey Plaza To Voice Grumpy Cat

Lifetime announced that Plaza, who currently stars as the always-angry April on Parks and Recreation, would be voicing the Internet and meme star on Thursday.

Who could play @RealGrumpyCat better than @evilhag in #GrumpyCats #WorstChristmasEver? http://http://t.co/2RhomKsHQ5 pic.twitter.com/z9we72Ly7O
— Lifetime (@lifetimetv) September 18, 2014

Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas

Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas will follow Grumpy Cat, who is so grumpy because she is never adopted, but, when a 12-year-old girl (Megan Charpentier) meets Grumpy Cat and they realize she can talk to Grumpy Cat, the two get together and go on a series of adventures and find the joy in Christmas.

Plaza addressed the casting on Twitter, posting a Christmas-themed Grumpy Cat meme.

pic.twitter.com/alLPrtsjNp
— Aubrey Plaza (@evilhag) September 18, 2014

Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas is set to premiere November 29 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
Thu, 18 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/10pbvv9nf6yo0w/1fwr6tup0/1qlk8wg9v/1fwr6tup0/mt7efe773/3y7phq64smw4ocw/lhc1bccfngg04wk/idbkgvsz7/o3a0jf2e073/6zxiwofmpw8wc/4xivqzdeu4w84cg/1mli5arj53fo84g/8avlcjekyr/ury4izm4llvb/1x2euybrjy1c1/cufn00c8z0w
