None of the films will star members of the original cast, and it is unclear who will pen the scripts or which stories will be explored.

The short films will be released exclusively on Facebook, creating a partnership that Lions Gate hopes to continue in the future. “We think Facebook is a great way for us to introduce the world of Twilight to a whole new audience while re-energizing existing fans,” said Lions Gate Vice Chariman Michael Burns.

Each short will be directed by an aspiring female director chosen by a panel of women, which will include Stewart, who portrayed Bella in all five Twilight films, and Meyer. Joining them will be Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, the only female director to have worked on The Twilight Saga, producer Cathy Schulman, Frozen co-director Jennifer Lee and actors Kate Winslet, Octavia Spencer and Julie Bowen.

Women Directors - The Gender Gap In Hollywood

A recent study from the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media found that women represented only 7% of directors, 13% of writers and 20% of producers. Moreover, only 30.9% of speaking roles were female, a statistic that falls to 23.6 % in the US. In the case of The Twilight Saga, all five films were written by a woman, Melissa Rosenberg, but, only one of the films was directed by a woman, the aforementioned Hardwicke – Chris Weitz directed New Moon, David Slade directed Eclipse and Bill Condon directed Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2.

Meyer said it was the large gender gap that brought her back to The Twilight Saga for the short film series, titled “The Storytellers – New Creative Voices of The Twilight Saga,” which is backed by Women In Film.

“The female voice is something that has become more and more important to me as I’ve worked in the film industry. I appreciate his willingness to leave his position in the private sector on very short notice and return to public service for a period."

On Tuesday, Pierson was met with a fair amount of criticism during a congressional hearing regarding Omar Gonzalez’s breach of the White House grounds. During the hearing, Pierson was hammed on details of the incident, including how Gonzalez managed to get past five rings of security, pass the staircase that leads up to the Obama family’s private residence and into the East Room before an off-duty Secret Service agent managed to apprehend him.

In response to the criticism, Pierson admitted, “It’s clear that our security plan was not properly executed. The shooting took place on Sept. 12 outside the state police barracks, and police are now calling it a planned attack. After seizing Frein’s computer, police say that they found evidence that Frein had been planning the attack and his subsequent life on the run, doing internet research on “how to avoid police manhunts” and wilderness survival skills.

Pipe Bombs, Other Weapons Discovered

Frein is believed to be hiding out in the woods near his childhood home in Canadensis, where police have found discarded weapons, supplies, and used adult diapers, suggesting Frein prepared his exit strategy. On Tuesday it was announced that, in addition to diapers and other supplies, the police found two functioning pipe bombs, which could have been detonated by a trip wire or a lit fuse.

“Over the last few days we have found several items that undoubtedly confirm Eric Frein is hiding in our search area. We have found a number of items belonging to Frein, some of which were hastily discarded,” announced Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens.

The manhunt has been going on for weeks, but Bivens announced on Tuesday that he belives they are closing in on Frein, taking his discarding of belongings as a sign of stress: “I am calling on you, Eric, to surrender. You are clearly stressed. You are making significant mistakes. We continue to take your supplies and your weapon stockpiles. While you are no doubt weakening our troopers’ resolve is very strong. We are not going anywhere,” Biven said in a message to Frein.

Though the pipe bombs discovered were left live, early reports suggest that Frein does not intend to hurt any civilians, but has a vendetta against law enforcement. “I am convinced that Frein has engaged in a personal battle with law enforcement, specifically the Pennsylvania State Police, and will likely stay focused on that fight,” Bivens said.

Furthermore, State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan stated that investigators believed Frein to have expressed a desire “to kill law enforcement officers and also to commit mass acts of murder.”

Wed, 01 Oct 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/ku3txw284pw4k/1wh30p07nchwkc/blx3stfh0/978d1526dq/2rhevxtevl2cw0gkk/87rnsk6l88cokg048/5lsmwgafir4sk8/4utw6fd6rj/2ocy5p92efi804ks/hygz9knvmdc0kg/z0yfyn17wk08gc/vuq8t8qt6msok44Lindsay Lohan Defends Her Performance Ahead Of West End Theatre Debuthttp://uinterview.com/news/lindsay-lohan-defends-her-performance-ahead-of-west-end-theatre-debut-13105

Lindsay Lohan received some poor early reviews after her first preview performance of David Mamet’s Speed-The-Plow, but the actress is determined not to let her critics get her down ahead of the play’s proper debut.

Lindsay Lohan In 'Speed-The-Plow'

Lohan, 28, fumbled a few of her lines during the first preview show, getting some help from a prop and a backstage crewmember who answered her line call. Yet, as many of the premature reviews noted, and as Lohan is quick to note: it could have been worse.

“It could’ve been a disaster – but it wasn’t by far,” Lohan told the U.K. Mirror. “I could’ve not shown up. But of course I did, it’s my show.”

“Everyone is always going to be judgmental, no matter what,” Lohan added, claiming she’s avoided reading the notices. “I respect people have an opinion, but I’m doing the best I can and will for the duration. I’m doing this because working makes me feel happy and this is a new venture for me.”

Lohan went on to note that she was affected by some nerves, but that fortunately the others involved in the play have been supportive and encouraging. “I was nervous on the first night because I’d never done it before. But everyone has been really great. I love the stage manager...they’ve all been kind, gracious and comforting,” she said.

As she keeps performing on the West End stage, Lohan hopes that she’ll grow more accustomed to the theater, having only previously acted in feature films and on television. “Every night feels more natural and comfortable. I’m not used to a live audience, it’s a much quicker buzz,” Lohan admitted, “When you do a movie you have to wait until the premiere to get that feeling.”

Speed-the-Plow director Lindsay Posner has consistently come to the defense of the actress. Posner has admitted that getting Lohan involved had something to do with the attention she’d attract to the production. However, he’s also maintained that she was someone who was right for the part, has taken to the stage as a natural and hasn’t shown any of the behaviors that previously made her a risky gamble of a star.

“There’s never been a problem of that nature,” Posner told the Guardian, speaking of her alleged penchant for tardiness. “And in terms of Lindsay’s illness and her addiction, I’m pretty certain she’s properly in recovery – in fact I know she is because there’s been no evidence of that whatsoever.”

Formal reviews of Lohan's performance in Speed-the-Plow will come out after her official debut Wednesday night.
Wed, 01 Oct 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/ku3txw284pw4k/1wh30p07nchwkc/blx3stfh0/978d1526dq/2rhevxtevl2cw0gkk/87rnsk6l88cokg048/5lsmwgafir4sk8/4utw6fd6rj/2ocy5p92efi804ks/hygz9knvmdc0kg/z0yfyn17wk08gc/7qsjblit7boc0o4Dick Donato, 'Big Brother' Contestant, Reveals He's HIV-Positivehttp://uinterview.com/news/dick-donato-big-brother-contestant-reveals-hes-hiv-positive-13104

Dick Donato, who won season 8 of Big Brother, revealed on Couples Therapy that he’s been living with HIV for years.

Dick Donato Is HIV-Positive

Donato, 51, found out he was HIV-positive while filming season 13 of Big Brother back in 2011 with his daughter Daniele Donato. The LA-based bar manager shockingly left the show during filming for “personal reasons,” which Donato is now revealing was his positive HIV test result.

"They told me that something was wrong with my blood test," Donato told People magazine, referring to Big Brother’s producers. "They had done two HIV tests. One had come back positive and the other had come back negative.” Donato revealed that a third test came back positive, adding, “When they told me, I just went numb. They had a car take me from CBS to my mother's house. She was the first person I told."

Aside from his mother, one of the first people Donato had to tell about the diagnosis was his girlfriend. Fortunately for the reality TV show star, his girlfriend not only tested negative for the disease herself, but showed him compassion and understanding. As for other people, Donato has said he’s realized that he can’t worry about what other people will assume about him from his diagnosis.

"People are going to make assumptions about how I got it, and that's okay," he said. "People are afraid to come forward because they're afraid of the stigma of HIV. I'm not gay and I've never stuck a needle in my arm, but at this point, it doesn't matter. We create a stigma around the disease that makes it hard for people to publicly say they have it."

Donato’s decision to be open about his HIV status emerged from a realization that he had a platform from which he could help other people – and because he was tired of lying about it and always worrying about the secret being found out.

"I went to a clinic that had a big sign that said 'HIV' and I thought, 'What if someone sees me?' My computer and router were hacked and I was afraid that someone would leak the information," said Donato. "I came up with excuses – people wondered why I was taking medicine regularly. When people asked why I left Big Brother, I would give quippy, smart-ass answers."

These days, being HIV-positive is not a death sentence and Donato is fortunate that his case is relatively mild.

"I take one pill a day. The only side effect I've noticed is that I have a lot of vivid dreams that wake me up during the night. But it's a small price to pay: My viral load is virtually undetectable, I'm happy to say,” he revealed. “I live a very normal life and don't have a lot of health issues. Apparently, the former What I Like About You star would show up to class high on marijuana. As a result, she allegedly donned sunglasses inside the classroom and would burst into spontaneous bouts of laughter.

Bynes’ in-class antics also reportedly included engaging in “horrendous arguments,” according to fellow student Rachel Loritz. Loritz also claims the former child actress would ask fellow students to do her homework for her for a fee.

Bynes was also supposedly caught cheating during an exam.

Bynes DUI Arrest

Earlier in the week, it was reported that Bynes had been arrested for a DUI in Los Angeles. California High Patrol pulled her over on Sunday, Sept. 28 and "determined she was under the influence of a controlled substance. She was released on $15,000 bail Sunday afternoon. It has subsequently been revealed that Bynes was on Adderall, for which she has a prescription.

Following the arrest, Bynes parents have claimed that they do not know their daughter's whereabouts. Since their conservatorship ended over the summer, Bynes has stopped living with them. The parents, who have no desire to retain another conservatorship over Bynes, believe that their daughter is merely spoiled and too interested in smoking pot. At the end of her first run, Pharrell stood up for her, and he was clearly in love.

“I never thought that I would ever find something that I usually look for my own label. Like, I’ve been dreaming for an artist like you all my career,” Pharrell said. “I want you on my team, so bad, and I’ve never done this,” he said, getting on his knees. Pharrell’s pleading worked, and Katriz landed on Team Pharrell.

Ethan Butler, who says music helps connect to his autistic sister, and dedicated his audition song, “Beneath Your Beautiful.” Adam and Blake were the first and only ones to turn around, and Adam was thrilled to fight with Blake over Ethan. Adam worked his charm, as usual, and Pharrell decided to appeal to Toia’s independent spirit, telling her, “If you go on his team he’s going to lift you. Six days later, the man sought treatment at a local Dallas hospital. He was not tested for Ebola at the time and was sent home with an antibiotics prescription. When his symptoms worsened two days later, he was taken by ambulance to the hospital and was diagnosed with Ebola, reported CNN.

While the infected individual apparently showed no signs of illness upon leaving Liberia, he came in contact with a number of people, including several children, during the time in which he was experiencing symptoms. Those children, relatives and close friends of the patient who’ve been in contact with him are being monitored. One of the individuals is under particularly close monitoring for signs of Ebola.

Second U.S. Ebola Case?

"Let me be real frank to the Dallas County residents: The fact that we have one confirmed case, there may be another case that is a close associate with this particular patient," said Zachary Thompson, director of Dallas County Health and Human Services, according to USA Today. "So this is real. There should be a concern, but it's contained to the specific family members and close friends at this moment."

Dr. Tom Frieden, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has admitted that the disease is highly fatal, but also expressed his confidence that the CDC and local medical professionals will be able to contain it.

"It's a severe disease, which has a high-case fatality rate, even with the best of care, but there are core, tried and true public health interventions that stop it," Frieden said, according to ABC News. However, as in the case of the patient in Dallas, patients who are not yet feverish will unfortunately pass though, which is a reality the CDC is faced with.

“One of the things that CDC has done in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Lagos, is to work with the airports' authority so 100% of the individuals getting on planes are screened for fever," Frieden said. "And if they have a fever, they are pulled out of the line, assessed for Ebola and don't fly unless Ebola is ruled out."

The directed added, "As long as there continue to be cases in West Africa, the reality is that patients travel, individuals travel, and, as appears to have happened in this case, individuals may travel before they have any symptoms."

Up to this point, Ebola has killed more that 3,000 people in West Africa and has infected at least 6,553 people overall. In order to keep everything stable, Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and SAMCRO plan on finding Haddem's wife, who could sign the deal for the housing project.

Sons Of Anarchy Recap

In order to get some clues on who the wife is, they dig up Haddem’s body. Finding his phone, they uncover a video he took with Venus (Walter Goggins). Venus, who Tig (Kim Coates) has remained in touch with, helps SAMCRO out with some information about a lake house Hadden had brought her to. Though the gang side-eyes Tig because of his friendship with Venus, they’re happy to have her intel

Stopping at the lake house, the biker gang manages to track down Haddem’s surviving wife and stepson. Though Tig unfortunately gets shot and Jax has to dive into the lake to save Haddem’s wife, SAMCRO is able to her to sign the papers – even though the housing was only meant to be a front for money laundering. She knows that if she doesn’t sign she’ll likely die.

Officer Cane & Eglee Shot

After cleaning up the mess with the pastor, Jax and his men head to meet Ron Tully’s (Marilyn Manson) people for a drug deal. Unbeknownst to Jax, police are tailing them to the transaction point. Tully’s men assume SAMCRO brought the heat and react by shooting both officers Cane (LaMonica Garrett) and Eglee (Marya Delver). Cane does not survive. At the clubhouse, Venus is taking care of Tig’s wound. Tig tries to convince her to leave, but after a heart-to-heart, Tig, in disbelief of his own feelings, kisses Venus.

Jarry (Annabeth Gish) wants to know who killed her colleagues and heads to Scoops to grill Jax, Bobby (Mark Boone Junior) and Chibs (Tommy Flanagan) about it. Jax says they had nothing to do with the shooting, but he does admit that he gave Ken Haas (John Lacy) the beating that landed him in the hospital. Then all of their lives appear to be in danger as a grenade bursts through the window, destroying the ice cream parlor but sparing all of their lives. Bobby realizes that SAMCRO has been sold out to Lin (Kenneth Choi) and suspects that it was Jury who did it.

Massacre At Diosa

Meanwhile, some of the Chinese gang members arrive at Diosa and give Nero (Jimmy Smits), who’d gone to check out Scoops, a call. Rushing over to the Diosa in an attempt to stop whatever plan the Chinese have, Jax arrives too late. By the time he and his men reach the bar, all of the women who’d been working there had been murdered.

As the episode came to a close, Rat (Niko Nicotero) drove a cuddling Venus and Tig off somewhere, Chibs held Jarry’s hand while driving her home and Juice (Theo Rossi) and Gemma (Katey Sagal) put silencers on their guns after the former turned down the latter’s offer to set him up at her father’s home.

Wed, 01 Oct 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/ku3txw284pw4k/1wh30p07nchwkc/blx3stfh0/978d1526dq/2rhevxtevl2cw0gkk/87rnsk6l88cokg048/5lsmwgafir4sk8/4utw6fd6rj/2ocy5p92efi804ks/hygz9knvmdc0kg/z0yfyn17wk08gc/4sbxtrygg78kscCOMEDY: Pete Davidson's 5 Funniest Pre-SNL Momentshttp://uinterview.com/comedy/pete-davidsons-5-funniest-pre-snl-moments

Pete Davidson is Saturday Night Live’s latest acquisition, and one of the most promising stars they’ve had in years. The scary, zombie theme and iconic dance moves secured the video a place in music and film history. It was the first music video to be inducted into the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

Directed by John Landis (Animal House), the video had a $500,000 budget, making it the most expensive music video of its time. Jackson reportedly wanted to release a re-vamped version to go along with his ‘This Is It’ tour before he died and Landis has been working on the project for months.

“The iconic video has never been released on Blu-ray or seen in cinemas and 3-D, and that was always a vision Michael had. In fact, his ‘This Is It’ London show was meant to feature a segment which included a 3-D performance,” a source told the New York Daily News.

Jackson Estate And John Landis Settle Lawsuit

While both Jackson’s estate and Landis both wanted the video to be re-released, the two parties were involved in a lawsuit regarding “Thriller” profits. Landis and producer George Folsey Jr., sued Optimum Productions, Jackson’s company, claiming they were still owed profits from the video. The two parties reached a settlement in 2012, paving the way for a future 3-D release.

While Landis confirmed that a 3-D version of “Thriller” will be released, he refused to reveal what other changes fans might expect from the video, saying, “It is going to reappear in a highly polished and three-dimensional way that is very exciting on the big screen… I cannot tell you more. I might have to kill you.”
Tue, 30 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/ku3txw284pw4k/1wh30p07nchwkc/blx3stfh0/978d1526dq/2rhevxtevl2cw0gkk/87rnsk6l88cokg048/5lsmwgafir4sk8/4utw6fd6rj/2ocy5p92efi804ks/hygz9knvmdc0kg/z0yfyn17wk08gc/23kenpxj8uisckHeather Locklear Diet: Helps Actress Look Better Than Ever On 53rd Birthdayhttp://uinterview.com/news/heather-locklear-diet-helps-actress-look-better-than-ever-on-53rd-birthday-13092

Heather Locklear turned 53 last week, and the Melrose Place actress looks better than ever thanks to regular work outs and and diet that features portion control.

Locklear, who celebrated her birthday on Sept. 25, and was spotted looking fit and having fun, playing a game of tennis. Kirby’s illustrations created and shaped some of the most famous Marvel characters, from the X-Men to the Fantastic Four and the Avengers.

Marvel has gone on to make millions off these characters, and their likeness, with blockbuster films and massive marketing deals, but Kirby’s heirs have not seen any profits because Kirby was technically a freelance artist. Moreover, Kirby worked with Marvel from 1958 to 1963, when copyright and credit for comics was relatively loose. Kirby was famously disrespected by Marvel, who refused to grant him any real ownership of his characters or and a majority of his artwork when he was still living.

In 2009, after Disney bought Marvel for $4 million, Kirby’s surviving family hired attorney Marc Toberoff and filed copyright claims for a variety of famous characters. Marvel claimed that Kirby had no right to the characters as a freelancer, and the courts have sided with Marvel thus far. Most recently, the case was meant to be heard in front of the Supreme Court. Marvel settled with the family before a court hearing could be held.

“Marvel and the family of Jack Kirby have amicably resolved their legal disputes, and are looking forward to advancing their shared goal of honoring Mr. Kirby’s significant role in Marvel’s history,” Marvel and Kirby’s estate said in a joint statement.

The exact nature of the settlement remains unknown.

Tue, 30 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/ku3txw284pw4k/1wh30p07nchwkc/blx3stfh0/978d1526dq/2rhevxtevl2cw0gkk/87rnsk6l88cokg048/5lsmwgafir4sk8/4utw6fd6rj/2ocy5p92efi804ks/hygz9knvmdc0kg/z0yfyn17wk08gc/5526z20cbbgooAnne Hathaway Says Fame 'F--ked Me Up'http://uinterview.com/news/anne-hathaway-says-fame-f-ked-me-up-13089

Anne Hathaway, the Oscar-winning actress, recently admitted that achieving fame was a difficult experience for her.

Anne Hathaway On Fame

"This fame thing? And people would say, 'You just have to be yourself,' and I was like, 'But I don't know who that is yet!'"

The media attention on Hathaway reached an all-time high following her performance as Fantine in Tom Hooper's Les Miserables. Though Hathaway earned an Oscar for the performance, she also received a fair amount of criticism – which mostly consisted of personal attacks that had little to do with her acting chops. A couple years removed from the worst of it, Hathaway says she’s no longer troubled by others’ perceptions.

"I've realized that don't need validation from anybody. At all," she told the interviewer. "I'm not sitting here now worrying, 'What do you think of me?' With all due respect, you seem like a lovely lady, but I don't need you, or anyone else, to like me. And that's so liberating. While Rose pays homage to the pre-hippie 60s era, her music and accompanying stylistic act is modern.

“The performances are stylized, but I'm not a pastiche act, so it's not like going to see a '60s act, like Hairspray on Broadway,” Rose told uInterview exclusively. “I'm a here-and-now performer influenced by that era, but really performing in the here and now.”

“The '60s – that I'm referencing – was before, like, everyone dropping acid; it was sort of the Camelot/Rat Pack '60s,” Rose explained. “That was just a gay old martini time, so it was just a great time to be stylized.”

For her "Trouble in Paradise" music video, Rose recruited the help of popular New York drag queens Hedda Lettuce, Paige Turner and Ivy Winters. “I learned so much from them, they are so fun, so talented, and they really represented the theme of the song and that is that nothing is as it seems.”

What was one of the things Rose learned from the famed drag queens? How to really accentuate false eyelashes. “One of [the tips] was to use a blow dryer on your lashes, like you put them on and then you use the blow-dryer and it makes the glue stick and makes the lashes go up,” said Rose, adding, “The other things I learned from them are not fit for camera unless it'll be viewed after midnight."

Rose’s album Trouble in Paradise – which she says is a little bit “Ray Pack Vegas” and a little bit “Bob Rock, Metallica” – is currently available for purchase.

Rose will be performing at 54 Below Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 9:30 p.m.
Tue, 30 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/ku3txw284pw4k/1wh30p07nchwkc/blx3stfh0/978d1526dq/2rhevxtevl2cw0gkk/87rnsk6l88cokg048/5lsmwgafir4sk8/4utw6fd6rj/2ocy5p92efi804ks/hygz9knvmdc0kg/z0yfyn17wk08gc/5ykblkpx67wgossMichael Phelps Arrested For DUI In Baltimorehttp://uinterview.com/news/michael-phelps-arrested-for-dui-in-baltimore-13087

Michael Phelps, the Olympic gold medaling swimmer, was arrested Tuesday morning on a DUI charge in Baltimore, Md.

Michael Phelps Arrested For DUI

Police pulled over Phelps, 29, at 1:40 a.m. for speeding, as he was traveling 84 mph in a 45 mph zone. Despite his financial stability and loving relationshipo with his girlfriend Clara (Rosamund Pike), Hector feels that he's yet to achieve true happiness and that he's a bit of a fraud.

Pegg, who can relate to Hector's sense of ennui, believes the movie tells the story of an all-too-common reality that's a product of modern society. "There are people in the world who have a far harder time than sort of, the middle classes, but I think that the key thing in this story was to pick a seemingly ok person, someone who should be ok, cause it teaches us, I think, that everyone is susceptible to not being happy," Pegg told uInterview exclusively. "And yeah, I felt that a little bit. The trouble is we've got so much choice these days, we've got... it sounds so esoteric, it's what Twitter calls a first world problem."

Seeking true happiness, Hector takes off on a journey of self-discovery. Hoping to gain knowledge and insight from the world's varied cultures, he travels to myriad places in which Pegg and Chelsom were happy to shoot. Of all of the exotic locales, the duo shared the same favorite destination – Bavaria. Their experience there was duly memorable because of a snowfall that transformed the already magical location.

"I have to say that, one of my favorite memories was in the mountains of Bavaria when the snow fell literally that much [gestures] the night before, a record snowfall in October, and it gave us this incredible snowscape that I had been looking for," said Chelsom. "The film just opened up to another limit, and it was, you know, it was an unbelievable moment."

Pegg added, "I woke up and it was like waking up in a Christmas card. It snowed so much as Peter said, the town was all like chocolate blocks-beautiful anyway, and we woke up and it snowed and I felt like I had lived in a Christmas card."

Simon Pegg On Robin Williams

Though Hector and the Search for Happiness has its comedic moments, the darker core of the movie – and Hector in particular – is a sense of dissatifaction with life despite what appears to be an almost enviable situation. The parallels between Hector's struggle and the recent passing of Robin Williams are unavoidable for Pegg, who counts the late comedian as a primary idol.

"It's a great loss. To everyone it's a great loss, but, if it can teach us one thing it's that fame and money don't mean a damn thing, you know," Pegg told uInterview. "People are often, in this current society, in this sort of celebrity-obsessed, aspirational society, think, 'Oh yeah, that's the key. If I can just get that or if I can look at these people that have that and envy them or...' And really, it doesn't matter that much. It can, it can, I guess money can put a salve on things; it can help you distract yourself from being depressed with various self-medications like money and clothes or whatever. Ultimately, you know, happiness comes from somewhere deeper and is more pervasive and more complex, and I think it is such a shame. I loved him dearly, and it's a terrible thing."

Hector and the Search for Happiness, rated R, is currently in theaters.

Tue, 30 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/ku3txw284pw4k/1wh30p07nchwkc/blx3stfh0/978d1526dq/2rhevxtevl2cw0gkk/87rnsk6l88cokg048/5lsmwgafir4sk8/4utw6fd6rj/2ocy5p92efi804ks/hygz9knvmdc0kg/z0yfyn17wk08gc/7q1vehceglk4gJessa Duggar Compares Abortion To Holocaust After Visiting D.C. After the trip, Duggar took to Instagram to reflect on her experience.

"I walked through the Holocaust Museum again today... very sobering," Duggar wrote. "Millions of innocents denied the most basic and fundamental of all rights—their right to life. One human destroying the life of another deemed 'less than human.' Racism, stemming from the evolutionary idea that man came from something less than human; that some people groups are 'more evolved' and others 'less evolved.'"

Duggar Equates Abortion To Holocaust

While at the Holocaust Museum, Duggar connected the genocide that took the lives of roughly six million Jews and 11 million individuals overall to abortion.

"A denying that our Creator—GOD—made us human from the beginning, all of ONE BLOOD and ONE RACE, descendants of Adam. The belief that some human beings are 'not fit to live.' So they're murdered. Slaughtered," wrote Duggar. "Kids with Down syndrome or other disabilities. The sickly. The elderly," the engaged TV star wrote in the caption. "The sanctity of human life varies not in sickness or health, poverty or wealth, elderly or pre-born, little or lots of melanin [making you darker or lighter skinned], or any other factor."

Duggar went on to quote Proverbs 24:10-12: "'If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not He that pondereth the heart consider it? and He that keepeth thy soul, doth not He know it? and shall not He render to every man according to his works?'"

The engaged reality TV star concluded her statement by hoping that another holocaust does not occur, hashtagging her post #ProLife. "May we never sit idly by and allow such an atrocity to happen again," she wrote. "Not this generation. We must be a voice for those who cannot speak up for themselves. Because EVERY LIFE IS PRECIOUS. #ProLife."

While Jessa might be the most recent member of the Duggar family to emerge from the Holocaust Museum connecting the atrocities on display therein with abortion, she is not the first. Last year, Jessa's mother Michelle Duggar conveyed a similar takeaway on her blog. "A couple of weeks after we went to the Holocaust Museum It dawned on us that there is a holocaust taking place right here in America!," wrote the Duggar matriarch. "More than 56 million lives have been destroyed in our country! That is over 4,000 babies being killed and 4,000 women being wounded each day!"

Jessa Duggar's husband-to-be is also ardently pro-life. The 19-year-old Christian frequently posts about the cause on his Facebook page.
Tue, 30 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/ku3txw284pw4k/1wh30p07nchwkc/blx3stfh0/978d1526dq/2rhevxtevl2cw0gkk/87rnsk6l88cokg048/5lsmwgafir4sk8/4utw6fd6rj/2ocy5p92efi804ks/hygz9knvmdc0kg/z0yfyn17wk08gc/2d1jjreu83okskck'The Voice' Recap: Blind Auditions Part 3 - Gwen Stefani Wins Over Returning Artist Anita Antoinettehttp://uinterview.com/news/the-voice-recap-blind-auditions-part-3-gwen-stefani-wins-over-returning-artist-anita-antoinette-13081

Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton battled it out in another round of Blind Auditions on The Voice, picking up standouts Kelli Douglas and returning artist Anita Antoinette.

Blind Auditions Part 3

John Martin “Sweet Pea” The cute son of a pastor who dropped out of college when his dad lost his job, and plays both the piano and the guitar. In the end, Jessie decided to go with “Girl Power!” and received a sparkly Team Gwen t-shirt.

Ricky Manning sang “Love Me Again” and, while his first verse caught the attention of the coaches Blake and Pharrell, both men waited until hearing a bit more of Ricky’s performance before pressing their buttons and turning their chairs. Pharrell gave a passionate pitch, saying, “I heard a guy who knew that it was his moment…You’re gonna kill it.” Pharrell’s nice-guy routine continued, when he told Ricky that Blake would no doubt be a good coach to him too. Ricky joined Team Pharrell, proving nice guys don’t always finish last.

Kelli Douglas, a single mother and former middle school teacher, brought her young son to her audtion. “I like my mommy because she’s a good singer and she has a great voice. I love her more than anything,” her son, Alex, said. Adam turned first, followed later by Gwen and Blake. By the end of her performance Kelli was so overwhelmed with emotion, she almost started to cry. Adam immediately launched into the charm, commending her for delivering a superb performance through her nerves. Adam won Kelli over, earning his first artist of the night.

Blessing Offfor, a blind man from New York City, says he learned everything he knows about songwriting during the time he spent in Nashville. Before his audition, Blessing said that, though he sings soul, he’d love to land on Team Blake. Blessing performed “Just the Two of Us” sitting at a piano, and was on his final riff when all four judges turned around. The coaches fought hard for him, and Blessing surprised Pharrell when he chose to be on his team. Blake was bummed, but admitted that Pharrell and Blessing were a perfect match.

Troy Ritchie, a self-described entertainer who can do a decent Stewie Griffin auditioned with “Out of My League.” Gwen was the first and only coach to turn around for Troy, telling him she wanted more boys on her team.

Mia Pfirrman, the daughter of performers, auditioned with “Unconditionally.” She got all four coaches to turn around. Adam told her that, while her performance wasn’t perfect, there were moments that were so spectacular, he just couldn’t let her slip away. Adam lobbied hard and won Mia over. Mia: Team Adam.

In a quick montage, Alessandra Castronovo won a spot on Team Adam, Jordy Searcy went to Pharrell and Kensington Moore landed on Team Blake with a countrified version of “Love Runs Out.”

Bree Fondacaro auditioned with “It Ain’t Me Babe,” and got Blake to turn around. Gwen told Bree that she was very close to turning her chair, but in the end, chose to let Blake take her. Bree: Team Blake.

Anita Antoinette originally auditioned in Season 3, years ago, and was told by the judges that she needed to work on her emotion and come back. Since then, Anita says she has barely performed due to bad stage fright, but has finally returned to prove herself on the Voice stage. This time around, she barely got two words out before Gwen and Blake both pressed their buttons. Adam and Pharrell followed quickly, and both gave Anita the hard sell, with Adam swearing up and down he would never send her home, despite Gwen’s insistence that, should she not pick Team Gwen, Gwen would steal her at the first chance she got. Gwen and Anita bonded over their love of reggae and desire to mix genres, and Anita joined Team Gwen!

The Voice blind auditions continue Tuesday at 8 p.m. on NBC.
Tue, 30 Sep 2014 00:00:00 -0400http://uinterview.com/feed/ku3txw284pw4k/1wh30p07nchwkc/blx3stfh0/978d1526dq/2rhevxtevl2cw0gkk/87rnsk6l88cokg048/5lsmwgafir4sk8/4utw6fd6rj/2ocy5p92efi804ks/hygz9knvmdc0kg/z0yfyn17wk08gc/2zuj25pib0Aretha Franklin Accused Of Using Auto-Tune On Cover Of Adele's "Rolling In The Deep"http://uinterview.com/news/aretha-franklin-accused-of-using-auto-tune-on-cover-of-adeles-rolling-in-the-deep-13079

Aretha Franklin released her cover of Adele’s hit “Rolling in the Deep” on her new album Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics, and she performed the track live on the Late Show with David Letterman.

Aretha Franklin Auto-Tune In "Rolling In The Deep"?

Franklin’s cover of “Rolling in the Deep” is the first single off her new album.
