RECAP: Maria Menounos Eliminated From 'Dancing With The Stars'

Season 14 of Dancing with the Stars could only take three celebrity contestants to the finals, which meant bad news for Extra host Maria Menounos. Despite earning a perfect score on Monday night's episode, Menounos and partner Derek Hough were eliminated Tuesday.

When it was announced that Menounos would be going home, the studio audience booed in protest, but Menounos stayed positive. “I learned so many things,” she said. “I learned how strong I was, I learned to persevere."

Menounous was joined in the bottom two by NFL super bowl winner Donald Driver and dance partner Peta Murgatroyd, who will join Latin soap star William Levy and partner Cheryl Burke and classical music singer Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas in the finals next week.

Actor Ewan McGregor went to Cannes in previous years with the films Trainspotting and Moulin Rouge, but at this year's 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival, he is wearing a different hat. McGregor, 41, is one of a nine-member jury that also includes actress Diane Kruger, directors Alexander Payne and Raoul Peck and fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier.

“As an actor ... when we come to festivals we show our films, and we get to see our film, and then we sit in a dark room for three days with your good selves, and then we go home,” McGregor told The Washington Post. “What a privilege it will be to sit in the dark for 12 days and have all these great stories sweep over us.”

There are plenty of reasons to see What to Expect When You're Expecting, in theaters Friday. Loosely based on the canonical pregnancy guide, the romantic comedy stars beauties of both genders, including Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Rodrigo Santoro and Chace Crawford.

It also features True Blood hunk Joe Manganiello, who apparently suffers from a shirt allergy. Whether onscreen or off, Manganiello seems adverse to upper body clothing (not that we're complaining).

In What to Expect, Manganiello plays a super-fit bachelor who keeps in shape by doing one-arm pull-ups and jogging circles around stroller-bound dads played by Chris Rock, Amir Talai, Rob Heubel and Thomas Lennon. In a film depicting morning sickness, miscarriage woes and debates about circumcision, Manganiello provides a much-needed dose of eye candy — you know, to help the medicine go down.

Mega movie star Tom Cruise, now filming the sci-fi flick Oblivion in Baton Rouge and soon to appear in the rock musical Rock of Ages, says that even though he'll be turning 50 in July he won't be going under the knife to keep his youthful appearance. "I haven't, and I never would," Cruise told Playboy.

Cruise also opened up about his wife, actress Katie Holmes, as well a host of other topics. "[Holmes] is an extraordinary person, and if you spent five minutes with her, you'd see it," he said. "Everything she does, she does with this beautiful creativity. She's funny and charming, and when she walks into the room, I just feel better. I'm a romantic. I like doing things like creating romantic dinners, and she enjoys that. I don't know what to say — I'm just happy, and I have been since the moment I met her. What we have is very special."

In the wake of controversy surrounding fellow Scientologist A-lister John Travolta, Cruise said that he pays no mind to rumors that have dogged him throughout his career. "Does refuting things help? Not really," he said. "There comes a point when you just have to go, You know what? Here's how I've lived my life: I've never been late to a set. I make films I believe in. I feel privileged to be able to do what I love. You just have to keep going and remember that. The other stuff? I hear it, I read it, I get it. But life is not a matter of trying to prove anything to anybody."

Aaron Sorkin To Write Screenplay For Steve Jobs Biopic

Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) will pen the script for a film telling the life story of late Apple visionary Steve Jobs, Sony Pictures announced Tuesday. The film will be based on the biography written by Walter Isaacson, published shortly after Jobs' death, from cancer, in October 2011.

Sorkin, who won several Emmy Awards for his work on TV's The West Wing and was most recently nominated for an Oscar for his Moneyball script, is considered to be one of the best screenwriters working today — if not the best. Sony Pictures' Amy Pascal expressed unbridled enthusiasm about Sorkin's involvement in the Jobs project. "There is no writer working in Hollywood today who is more capable of capturing such an extraordinary life for the screen than Aaron Sorkin," Pascal said in a statement. "In his hands, we're confident that the film will be everything that Jobs himself was: captivating, entertaining and polarizing."

This film is not to be confused with an indie picture, titled Jobs, in which Ashton Kutcher plays the tech genius.

IN DEPTH: Howard Stern Shows Soft Side On 'America's Got Talent'

The second night of the season premiere of America’s Got Talent was an event that included some surprisingly bizarre actions, twists and turns. If America’s indeed got talent, then Howard Stern’s got a soft side. At least, that's what viewers saw on Tuesday night as the harshest critic wasn’t the radio rebel, but instead was the creator of the 90’s children show, Bobby’s World. Howie Mandel was a bit more critical than the previous night; usually being the odd man out of the judge’s panel. Nevertheless, the second night hailing from San Francisco served as a solid continuation from the previous one.

It was another night filled with breathtaking performances that were original, mind-blowing and truly amazing. The first performance of the night kicked off another great show as David Garibaldi and the CMYK’s took the stage. The Sacramento-based group put on a dance routine that had them moving dramatically to the rock version of a classic Beethoven tune, while painting a portrait of an unknown individual. The act turned out to be surprisingly good and well received by the judges and audiences as it combined two different styles of art into one original act.

This season was introduced to its first balancing performance as seventeen year old Cristian Sandu showed his amazing leg strength as he stoof on top of round metal objects. It was well-received by Howard and Sharon due to it’s boldness. However; Howie disagreed as he perceived it to be “too slow” for his liking. Next came a group known as the ‘Lisa Clark Dancers’ that performed hip-hop moves to the tune of Mozart. Howard and Sharon approve it, yet once again it was Howie who left unimpressed.

Other impressive acts during the night included a man dressed up like a janitor that used his broom like a flute, a 50-year-old white guy from Binghamton, NY, who happens to have a singing voice like Ray Charles, and a comedy act by impressionist Dave Burlagh that included imitations of celebrities such as Nicholas Cage, Jack Black, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.

For all the great acts, there were two performers who stole everyone’s hearts as they made the night more emotional. The first of the two was performed by Luis Meneghan, 50, a registered nurse from Utah who regularly sings opera to his co-workers and patients for fun. What made his performance so well done was how strong, powerful and on-key he was. Though it may be somewhat harsh to say; in respectful terms, Luis is wasting his time being a nurse when he should be spending it at the New York Metropolitan Opera House. As Luis gets voted to go to Vegas, he’s also on the receiving end of optimistic statements and words of encouragement that lead to his wife and daughter to cry tears of joy.

The final performance was without any surprise the best of the night as street dancer Alonzo Jones, better known as “Turf,” performed a jaw-dropping dance routine to the Black Eyed Peas hit “BOOM BOOM-POW.” From beginning to the end, Turf’s body movement looked absolutely unreal that it’s almost painfully good with the way his body parts twisted. His moves were so in tune with the beat that it’s almost as if the song was controlling him. Turf would eventually break down in tears as he was described by Stern to be a “true original.” Howie Mandel stated his performance to be “magic,” especially after Turf explains his humble beginnings from being homeless for nearly two years to making it on the big stage. When you hear stories of these talented performers coming from a struggling background, it makes you want to root for them even more.

Of course, the second night wouldn’t feel so complete without the puzzling and even bizarre acts that were displayed during the San Francisco auditions. The first of the several came from a 57-year-old man dressed up in a bird suit who called himself Mr. Special. Although there was nothing particularly “special” about his act, which consisted of a laughable performance of the triangle and professing his love for Sharon Osbourne, perhaps his best talent was making a complete fool out of himself. Another strange performance was done by singer Kim McAffrey. Despite looking like she was about to be very good, it turned out to be the complete opposite as she received boos and X’s from the judges panel. She stated after her performance that sings regularly in the shower; perhaps she should just stick to doing that from now on. By far the most bizarre performance of the night was done a by rather large man nicknamed “Kotten Kandy,” who sported a Vegas showgirl outfit that was probably a few sizes too small. Along on a raspy voice, ‘Kotten Kandy’ received a not-so-sweet reaction from the judges and audience.

As the show takes their auditions next week into New York, fans can only expect things to get even crazier.

Cameron Diaz may play the pregnant Jules in the upcoming star-studded What to Expect When You're Expecting, with Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Matthew Morrison, Chace Crawford, Brooklyn Decker, Joe Manganiello, Anna Kendrick, Dennis Quaid, and Chris Rock, but Diaz was fit as a fiddle at the red carpet premiere of the film at Hollywood's Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Monday night.

Diaz rocked a black Valentino mini dress with a tight-fitting, long-sleeved top and a ruffled skirt. "It was very strange seeing Cameron Diaz with a nine months pregnancy bump," said English director Kirk Jones (Everybody's Fine) of his star, reports USA Today. "Actually, her mum was there on set one day and I thought, this must be very odd for her mum to be looking at her daughter with a big pregnancy bump. I caught her mum looking at her once or twice and I just wondered what she was thinking."

What to Expect When You're Expecting hits theaters on Friday, May 18.

President Barack Obama has been making the talk show rounds lately in preparation for his upcoming presidential race against inevitable Republican ticket nominee Mitt Romney, and his latest stop on the talk show circuit will be on today's episode of ABC's The View, which will be attended by all The View hosts, Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Last week Obama made "that historic decision to say that [he was] in favor of gay marriage," Walters points out on Tuesday's interview with Obama on The View. Walters also pointed out that the idea might be unpopular for some. "There are 30 states which are not," Walters said, and "also federal laws that impinge on the rights of gays." Walters asked how far Obama was willing to go to stand behind his statement and his support of same-sex marriage.

"My justice department has said to the courts, we don't think the Defense of Marriage Act is constitutional," Obama said, referring to the federal law that defines marriage as a legal union between a man and a woman, specifically. "This is something that historically had been determined at the state level and part of my believing ultimately that civil unions weren't sufficient."

When Walters asked if he would fight to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, Obama was less direct. "Congress is clearly on notice that I think it's a bad idea."

Today's episode, airing at 11 a.m. EST on ABC, will mark Obama's fourth appearance on The View since he took office in 2009.

Swamp People star Mitchell Guist, a grizzled alligator hunter that roamed the swamps with his brother, Glenn Guist, on the hit History Channel reality television show, died at 48 years old on Monday morning in a boating accident.

The good-natured Bayou native Guist was in his boat on the Belle River in Louisiana when he fatally fell from the vessel, possibly due to suffering a seizure, said Sheriff Mike Waguespack of Baton Rouge, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Though initial attempts to resuscitate Guist were made, Guist was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

"We are extremely saddened to report that our friend and beloved member of the Swamp People family, Mitchell Guist, has passed away earlier today," a spokesperson for the History Channel and Original Media released in a statement. "Mitchell passed on the swamp, doing what he loved. We appreciate your respect for the Guist family's privacy and hope you join us in sending our thoughts and prayers to his brother, Glenn, and the rest of the Guist family."

Swamp People will go back into proudction on the second half of season three in July.

CLOSER LOOK: Jake Gyllenhaal Cops To Grit In 'End of Watch' Trailer

Writer and now director David Ayer is known for his gritty cop dramas, which in the last decade have included the acclaimed Training Day, Dark Blue, Harsh Times and Street Kings. Last week we got our first sneak peek at Ayer’s latest and perhaps most promising cop-inspired film since Training Day, the riveting End of Watch.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña star as partners, friends and two of LAPD’s finest who make a big gang bust and unsuspectingly earn a spot on a powerful drug cartel’s hit list. Gyllenhaal, in his first movie in over a year, promises a compelling performance as Brian Taylor, having transformed himself into a uniformed officer after five months of physical and tactical training (and shaving his head).

According to Ayer, the “found footage” cinematography required the camera crew to stay out of sight during scenes and even the actors to occasionally act as cameramen (apparently, Gyllenhaal got pretty good at it by the end). But more than anything it sets the film apart from other cop flicks and adds a documentary-style feel that may prove winning.

Perhaps you’ve seen Training Day. Perhaps you liked Peña in Crash. Perhaps you read how Gyllenhaal convinced a cop he was a fellow officer on the streets of L.A. (no, really). Or perhaps, like me, you’re just obsessed with the formula of cop films that blend equal parts drama, action and, yes, even humor. Whatever your excuse, End of Watch is a must. But since it doesn't premiere until September 28, all you can do for now is watch the trailer over and over again … or even better, get the lowdown from my breakdown:

00:07: Officer Taylor (Gyllenhaal) introduces himself and his partner Officer Zavala (Peña) in the locker room on a handheld camera. Zavala, who is half-naked, shies away from the camera. There’s petty banter. We smile.

00:18: A string of armored officers goes out on a mission. Taylor introduces his patrol unit, “one of the toughest divisions in the LAPD.” A Lieutenant advises them to take pride in what they do. We get the sense that these words will haunt the officers throughout the film, no matter how much grit ensues… which, considering Ayer’s repertoire, will no doubt be substantial.

00:25: “From the writer of” titles are interspersed throughout the first scenes. The last one reads “The Fast and the Furious” (I know, but keep watching). It’s a visual cue that initiates the action and is appropriately followed by a car chase that ends in a collision and an arrest. Just another day on the job.

00:42: The sentimental part. We get a taste of their friendship off-duty. They dance, they double-date, they celebrate Zavala’s new-born child in the hospital. “Everybody here is family.” They talk about children while patrolling and who their daughters will (or, rather, will not) date. We get a feel for these characters: they’re top guns, but they’re good cops and good men. We root for them.

00:55: A dispatch call and a shot of Taylor from underneath the glove compartment as he responds. “What are we looking for again?” Zavala asks. “Dope, money, and guns,” Taylor responds. That’s exactly what they get.

01:03: The pick-up truck driver they pull over goes to shoot Zavala, who dodges the bullet and cuffs the shooter. He confirms that Taylor is safe. But that’s a foreign concept in South Central L.A.: there are machine guns in the back seat, cash and bling pouring out of buckets (literally), and a handgun embellished with diamonds. Something’s off.

01:12: Then, the bust that will change their lives. They break into a house. It’s the cobra’s nest. They’ve stumbled upon a drug cartel. Foreboding words from a S.W.A.T. officer darken the tone: “You just tugged on the tail of a snake. It’s going to turn around and bite you back.” The grit begins.

01:31: Jarring music intensifies to match the increasing tension. Gripping scenes of gangs, arrests, violence, and sex flash in rapid sequence. “They operate by a different set of rules” is sung to the tune of mean-faced thugs.

01:50: Zavala and Taylor exchange a vow of brotherhood. “If anything happens to you” lingers.

02:00: A man in the hood warns them that there are rumors that they’re on a wanted list. Taylor dismisses it as an occupational hazard, but nobody looks convinced.

02:05: They chase a suspect who leads them into an apartment building. It’s instantly obvious that it’s an ambush. Switch to several heavily armed gang members cocking their firearms, and back to two alarmingly outnumbered officers hiding out in a shabby room. We suspend our disbelief against all odds and hope that they’ll make it out safely.

02:11: Taylor and Zavala are down on the floor, face flat. Taylor strategizes. “Listen to me, we’re shooting ourselves out of here” sounds more like a threat than a promise. There’s a countdown. 3, 2, 1.

Season three's lineup will bring back former controversial RuPaul's Drag Race contestants, Willam Belli and Sharon Needles as members of the faculty, as well as feature Latrice Royale, JuJubee, Manila Luzon, Raja, Raven, Shannel, Alexis Mateo, Mariah, Chad Michaels, Pandora Boxx, and Delta Work.

Celeb professors Joely Fisher, Tamara Taylor, Robin Givens, Donna Mills, Brittany Snow, and Angela Kinsey will also guest star on the upcoming season of RuPaul's Drag U, which returns to Logo on June 18.

The first official clip for Ridley Scott's kinda-sorta prequel to Alien, Prometheus, named after the ship that carries stars Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class), Charlize Theron (The Road), Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Guy Pearce (Lockout), and Idris Elba (The Wire), to a new ominous planet that is rumored to hold the key to man's origins on Earth, has been released online.

There has been a lot of press surrounding the new Prometheus and its implied connections with the iconic 1979 Alien, also directed by Scott. Scott wanted Prometheus to be in the same vein as Alien, but have its own story. "Ridley had a very specific idea of the story he wanted to tell. And sometimes you have to look at different versions of it to know what it is you want and what you don't want," Prometheus screenwriter Damon Lindelof told Entertainment Weekly, reports AceShowbiz.com.

New 'Bachelorette' Emily Maynard Meets Her 25 Prince Charmings

Another season (season eight, to be exact) of ABC's The Bachelorette premiered on Monday night, and that means Bachelorette and Emily Maynard, 26, fans got to see some of the most awkward and cringe-inspiring first meetings of all time — all in one place, on one night.

Maynard, who was only cast aside by The Bachelor season 15's Brad Womack after the cameras stopped rolling, introduced herself and her daughter Ricki, 6, to the viewers in the beginning of Monday night's premiere. "Hi, my name is Emily," she said. "I'm a single mom, and I cannot believe I'm The Bachelorette. That's wild!"

Maynard talked a little bit about her former relationship history with former fiance, NASCAR driver Ricky Hendricks, Ricki's father, who died in a plane accident in 2004. But being on this show isn't about grieving for Maynard. She made it clear that she doesn't really "want to talk about it anymore," before moving on to say that now she wants "a husband to love me!"

Highlights of the men traveling far and wide to come woo Maynard include Tony, who presented Maynard with a glass slipper and introduced himself by saying, ahem, "The name's Charming, Prince Charming." Chris, a corporate sales director, gave Maynard bobble-head figures of himself and her. Aaron may have introduced himself as a high school biology teacher, but he made it clear to Maynard that he was "here to have chemistry with you." Doug, a single parent himself, introduced himself as "a hugger." And Randy arrived in an old lady's costume, which he then ripped off to reveal the true Randy.

But perhaps Travis topped them all, showing up with an ostrich egg, which he explained represented Maynard and her daughter Ricki. "Throughout this journey, I will take care of this egg like I will take care of you and Ricki," he explained. Good to know.

Maynard sent two fellas packing — Brent, a technology salesman with six children, and Lerone, a real estate agent from L.A.

Howard Stern took the place of Piers Morgan for the first time beside returning America's Got Talent judges Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel, hosted by Nick Cannon, on Monday night's season seven premiere of the NBC show.

Though Stern was both self-depreciating and self-aggrandizing with comments like, "These executives at NBC must be out of their mind to take a risk on me," Stern proved to be relatively well behaved on the network talent show.

Stern has been a fan of America's Got Talent throughout its previous six seasons, and now he calls the opportunity to be its new judge "one of the most fun experiences I've ever had in my life." Despite Stern's relative lack of vulgarity, he managed to slip in a few jabs at some of the less impressive contestants.

Of the magician / dance act performed by Aoni Jackson, Stern said, "I wanted to see some magic and all I saw was a guy with his pants off and a rather small package, quite frankly."

At the offset, the dancers didn't impress shock-jock Stern. "When the dance acts come on, I hit fast forward." However, Stern had to amend his previous conclusion when the Light Wire Theater group danced a performance piece in which they appeared to morph into glowing dinosaurs. "We are the greatest country in the world," Stern said, trying his hand at some "sappy," crowd-pleasing patriotism. "We have the most creative people. You're everything that makes America great. I applaud your originality and I thank you for lifting everyone's spirit."

Will Ferrell hosted Saturday Night Live's penultimate show of its 37th season on Saturday, with musical guest Usher, and reprised some of his classic impressions, including that of George W. Bush.

After Barack Obama's gay marriage announcement, Ferrell as "George W. Bush" showed up as Joe Biden's (Jason Sudeikis') "imaginary friend," who has been living in his closet.

"You know, everyone thinks you're a figment of my imagination," said Sudeikis-as-Biden on the SNL episode as he drank an O'Doul's non-alcoholic beer with Ferrell-as-Bush. "Well, for some people that's just easier than accepting the truth ... I've been stuck here living in your closet for the past three-and-a-half years.

Ana Gasteyer and Fred Armisen also returned for Ferrell's hosting stint.

Rumors that Britney Spears would be joining the judging panel of the U.S. version of The X Factor began swirling shortly after producer Simon Cowell axed Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones in January. Today, it's official: Spears, 30, will join the panel along with fellow singer and former Disney Channel star Demi Lovato, 19.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join ‘The X Factor’ judging panel,” Spears said in a statement relased by Fox. “I’m a huge fan of the show and now I get to be a part of the action. Simon and L.A. better watch out!”

Spears and Lovato will join Cowell and music producer L.A. Reid next season. Spears is rumored to have signed a $15 million deal to be on The X Factor, according to MTV News.

“I’m absolutely delighted Britney and Demi are joining us,” Cowell said. “Britney remains one of the biggest stars in the world, she’s talented, fascinating — and I believe she knows exactly how to spot The X Factor. Demi’s had an amazing career in music, TV and film for someone her age. She’s young, confident, and enthusiastic. I think it’s really important that she speaks to our younger audience. The new panel will be dynamic and will work really well with the changes we are making to the show.”

HBO's Emmy-winning medieval drama Game of Thrones has fans hooked with cliffhangers and multiple story arcs that often send beloved (or reviled) characters to their graves, and Sunday's episode — "A Man Without Honor" — was no exception. If you haven't seen it yet, then you should know that what follows contains MAJOR SPOILERS, so beware.

Following up on last week's "The Old Gods and the New," which left us in suspense over the theft of Princess Daenerys Targaryen's (Emilia Clarke) three baby dragons, we return to the walled city of Qarth to find Daenerys scrambling to decide who to trust. As it turns out, neither rags-to-riches merchant/suitor Xaro Xhoan Daxos nor warlock Pyat Pree were good candidates, considering their conspiracy to [SPOILER ALERT!] kidnap Daenerys's dragons, kill her people, and crown Xaro the King of Qarth. And, perhaps for the first time in the entire series, it is overwhelmingly clear that Daenerys's seemingly most loyal companion, Ser Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) has his own agenda, after his unnerving conversation with the masked woman Qaithe.

Meanwhile, in Winterfell, which has been haphazardly seized by Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), the seductive wilding Yara manages to escape under cover of night with Bran and Rickon Stark and the giant Hodor, but an angry Greyjoy enlists his men to return them safely to capture. The final, gut-wrenching scene in Winterfell shows two tarred bodies hanging from nooses in Winterfell, but it's unclear at this point whether or not those bodies belong to the Stark boys. If not them, then who?

In Robb Stark's camp (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Jaime Lannister returns after a six-episode hiatus, though not much has changed — he's still chained to pole and under strict watch. After a daring attempt at escape, with his bludgeoning of a fellow Lannister as catalyst, Jaime is brought back to camp, where everyone wants him dead — except Catelyn Stark, who fights to keep him alive as bounty, though she calls him "a man without honor" (episode title alert!). Jaime is ostensibly grateful to Catelyn but can't help pushing her buttons about her dearly departed Ned, and the scene wraps with Catelyn, very much on the edge, drawing a sword in front of Jaime's helpless body.

Jon Snow (Kit Harrington, pictured) is also in a bit of pickle North of the Wall, as he struggles not to yield to the bawdy advances of Ygritte, wilding and prisoner. Snow, holding fast to his vow never to touch female flesh, also must keep a handle on Ygritte's leash, but she's so wiley she escapes and leads him into a trap where — at episode's end — he is surrounded by wildlings.

Eva Longoria is not only making headlines for the end of Desperate Housewives, but also for her sudden disclosure about her divorce from NBA player Tony Parker on Lifetime's new The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet. Longoria and Parker had a very public split in 2010, after which she dated Penelope Cruz's little brother, Eduardo Cruz.

It was revealed at the time that Parker had been unfaithful, and Longoria ran the gamut of emotions at the time. "Am I not sexy enough? Am I not pretty enough? Am I not smart enough?" she admitted she wondered, according to USA Today.

Longoria was determined not to wallow in self-pity, however. "In so many of those questions, I immediately stopped and go, 'No don't start doing that.' Because you can get stuck in that cycle and you can carry on to other things .... Society usually thinks there's something wrong with the woman. 'Oh, he cheated on her, so she must not have been sexually satisfying him. She must have been a ball and chain!'"

Cruz and Longoria dated for about a year before breaking it off in March.

'Arrested Development' In Production

The Bluths are back, and now there's visual evidence to prove it. Fox cancelled Arrested Development, starring Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, David Cross, and Jeffrey Tambor in 2006, but now the entire cast is returning for a fourth "reunion" season that will premiere on Netflix sometime next year.

Createor Mitch Hurwitz was recently photographed by Vulture brainstorming for the revival. "I was working in the room with the writing staff," he said of the photograph that was snapped of him hard at work. "We were discussing the Maeby (Alia Shawkat) episode."

The hope is that fans will appreciate the new platform. "There's going to be some mystery sprinkled throughout this," said Hurwitz. "Instead of watching one a week and try to get ahead of it, the hope is [fans] will watch them all together and then go back and look for clues and connections."

Freddie Mercury Hologram To Appear In Concert With Queen

First Tupac Shakur did it at Coachella, as the brainchild of Dr. Dre, and now Freddie Mercury is following suit. The deceased Mercury will reunite with Queen in hologram form for a 10th anniversary musical of "We Will Rock You" on Monday.

Queen guitarist Brian May told BBC that Mercury will reappear onstage in London at the Dominion Theater. "People will come out saying, 'did we actually see Freddie?'" May said of the hologram.

According to May, Mercury's appearance was scheduled to happen before Tupac's. "It's a little unfortunate they did that thing with Tupac as we've been trying to make Freddie appear on the stage for quite a while."

Robert De Niro will also reportedly be in attendance at the event, reports International Business Times. "There is a certain person who's coming that's intimately associated with getting the production on in the first place — our friend Bob from Los Angeles," May told BBC.

'Celebrity Apprentice' Fires Aubrey O'Day

Aubrey O'Day, Arsenio Hall and Clay Aiken all started out on Sunday night's Celebrity Apprentice before Donald Trump, taking a line from last week's advisors and former Celebrity Apprentice victors John Rich and Marlee Matlin, called O'Day "transparent' and fired her, leaving Hall and Aiken to duke it out for this season's victory.

"There are no losers in this room," Trump told Aiken, Hall, and O'Day before giving O'Day the bad news. "Whoever said I'm transparent, f--k t hem," O'Day said on her way out.

Hall and Aiken left the boardroom in high spirits. "I'm getting your ass," Hall said, before Aiken said, "You might want to rephrase that."

Aiken is ready to take on Hall. "This time I ain't gonna lose," he said, referring obliquely to his 2003 American Idol loss to Ruben Studdard in 2003. "I will sleep when it's all over. Until then, game on!"

While things are back-and-forth with last season's Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson from The Bachelor, Brad Womack's ex-girlfriend, Emily Maynard, 26, is ready to try her hand at finding love on Season 8 of ABC's The Bachelorette.

"Emily's season is drastically different," said host Chris Harrison, reports USA Today. "It changed the tone from Night One," Harrison said. Maynard was engaged to Ricky Hendrick of NASCAR when he tragically died in an airplane crash in 2004. Maynard was pregnant with Hendrick's daughter at the time, Ricki.

"Throughout the show, it was always that underlying issue of, she's a mom and is this guy ready for that," Harrison said about the upcoming Bachelorette season, which started filming in March in Charlotte, North Carolina, where Maynard lives. That's right — The Bachelorette came to Maynard so she wouldn't have to uproot Ricki for filming in Los Angeles.

The Bachelorette hasn't finished filming yet, so whether or not Maynard will find lasting love is still in question. Tune in to The Bachelorette on ABC at 9:30 p.m. on Monday.

After eight memorable seasons, ABC's Desperate Housewives, starring Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, and Marcia Cross, took a final bow on Sunday night in a two-part special that had fans misty eyed.

The comedy-drama was always big on dramatic irony, so even though fans knew that Carlos (Ricardo Chavira) had killed Gabrielle's (Longoria) stepfather, Alejandro (Tony Plana), Bree (Cross) still took the stand in a murder trial in which she was accused of his death.

After Renee (Vanessa Williams) married Ben, Julie's (Andrea Bowen) water broke, and her mother Susan (Hatcher) had to drive her daughter to the hospital in the limo to delive the baby in time.

After a moving speech by Huffman's Lynette, the housewives all promised each other that they would remain fixtures in each others' lives, before it was revealed that they all would wind up going their separate ways in the end.

New Maya Calendar Discovery Disproves '2012' End-Of-Days Prediction

Believers in the Maya calendar prediction that the world will end on December 21, 2012, rest easy. You just got a reprieve of about 6,000 years, according to most interpretations. Archaeologists have discovered a new buried room in ancient city of Xultun, located in the depths of the Guatemalan rain forest, that is filled with ancient numerical calculations that depict an "extended" Maya calendar.

The new timeline revealed by the Xultun calculations extends approximately 6,000 years beyond the previous 2012 Maya calendar prediction, according to findings published in the Science journal, reports NPR. "The wall is covered in numbers and this is something that really got our attention very early on," said David Stuart of the University of Texas, Austin. "This is an unusual thing about the Xultun mural," Stuart revealed.

Scholars everywhere seem to agree about the previous misunderstanding of the Maya calendar. "Why would they go into those numbers if the world is going to come to an end this year?" said Anthony Aveni at Colgate University, reports ABC News. "You could say a number that big at least suggests that time marches on."

The buried city of Xultun was discovered in 1915, but only became subject to study about four years ago, due to its remote location and difficult access. By the time William Saturno from Boston University got an emergency grant from the National Geographic Society to explore Xultun, most everything inside had been looted, reports NPR. But the murals with the new figures for the Maya calendar remained.

The only question that remains is, who will be around to star in the inevitable sequel to 2012 (8012?), which stars John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Thandie Newton, and Oliver Platt. 8012 will likely hit theaters in about 6,000 years, give or take.

Reese Witherspoon Attends Father's Bigamy Hearing

Reese Witherspoon, 36, attended a hearing on Friday in Nashville, Tennessee, alongside her husband, Jim Toth, to weigh in on the bigamy dispute between her parents — John Witherspoon and his wife of 42 years, Betty Witherspoon.

The case, which was closed to the public, involves John Witherspoon's marriage to another woman, Tricianne Taylor, on January 14, 2012. Reportedly, John was still married to Reese Witherspoon's mother, Betty, at the time, and still is, according to The Tennessean.

The lawsuit against John Witherspoon and Taylor accuses the two of bigamy and seeks to have the new marriage annulled on the grounds that "no person in Tennessee can marry another while being married at the same time of the second marriage," quotes People.

A pregnant Witherspoon and her brother were both present to reportedly ask Probate Judge Randy Kennedy, who handles cases of mental competency, to put their father under conservatorship. They and their mother, Betty, fear that John suffers from early onset dementia, reports The Tennessean. Betty Witherspoon has a restraining order against Taylor that prevents her from using the Witherspoon name.

According to People, John, 70, a physician, has had mental problems in the past that include alcohol abuse, hoarding, and compulsive spending.

The controversy surrounding the ABC series GCB, which first had to do with objections to its original title, Good Christian Bitches, followed by accusations that it was poking fun at Christians, have finally caught up with it, as ABC has reportedly decided not to renew GCB, starring Kristin Chenoweth, Leslie Bibb, Jennifer Aspen, and Annie Potts.

Alhough ABC will not officially put out its list of approved and rejected series until next week, Deadline is reporting the approved line-up, and GCB did not make the cut, going down with other new series, Missing, starring Ashley Judd and Sean Bean, and The River.

GCB has been suffering from sinking ratings in its short run since premiering on March 4, initially drawing in a reliable 7.25 million viewers on average, before recently succumbing to as low as 5.6 million, reports Zap2It.

In better news for fans of ABC's new shows, the Shonda Rhimes-created Scandal, starring The Last King of Scotland's Kerry Washington and Ghost's Tony Goldwyn, will be renewed in its time slot of Thurdsay nights at 10 p.m.

Fans of J.J. Abrams' Fringe, which stars Joshua Jackson (Peter Bishop), Anna Torv (Olivia Dunham), John Noble (Dr. Walter Bishop) and Michael Cerveris were delighted late last month when it was announced that Fringe, the sci-fi Fox show that has been grasping onto its ratings during its fourth season, will be renewed for a shortened 13-episode fifth season. And now that the pressure's off and the season finale has aired, rumors are flying about what season five of Fringe will have in store for fans in September 2012.

Fringe's season four finale, the second installment of a two-parter called "Brave New World," showed the heroes' dilemma after discovering the fate of the world in 2036, when it is ruled by bald "Observers" a time-traveling super-power from the even more distant future. "There is certainly the suggestion at the end," of a full-scale takeover by the Observers, hinted executive producer J.H. Wyman, according to Entertainment Weekly. "The idea that September says, 'They're coming,' and that Olivia says she's pregnant really does set us up for what we saw in 'Letters of Transit,'" Wyman said. "At the same time, I will also say that everything you've seen over the past four seasons is hugely important to season five."

Wyman and his fellow producer Jeff Pinkner didn't know if Fringe would be renewed for a fifth season or not, so they had to prepare for the season four finale being the last episode ever. "We would have thought of something," said Pinkner. "Written a graphic novel or something on the Internet, to wrap up everything [if the show was cancelled]. Call it blind ignorance or naivete or being stupid, we have said, every season, 'Okay, this is it,' and left it in the hands of the audience and the press to drum up enough support for us to come back and do it again."

But just because there is a confirmed truncated season five of Fringe, don't get too excited. That will spell the end of it. The fifth season, Abrams said, is just about enough to "allow the series to conclude in a wild and thrilling way."

RECAP: 'American Idol' Selects Its Top Three

American Idol narrowed it down to three on Thursday. Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips (pictured) are all advancing to the finals, while Hollie Cavanagh — a powerhouse singer who received the worst reviews from the judges on Wednesday — is going home.

Often underestimated, Cavanagh, 18, outlasted contestants like Skylar Laine and Elise Testone, but it was her rendition of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me" that seemed to showcase her flaws instead of her strengths — namely, that she does not seem to emotionally connect to the song in the way that is necessary.

"I didn't really feel nervous singing that song," Cavanagh told MTV News. "I really did love that song, and I definitely felt it, but I've said this every time. It's one thing for me to feel it, but if nobody else does, then that's not how a song should be performed."

Before Thursday's elimination results were announced, Season 7 winner David Cook took the stage to perform his new single “The Last Song I’ll Write For You,” followed by "Idol matriarch" Jennifer Lopez, who gave a fiery performance of her song, "Dance Again."
